Hey everyone looking for some tips with this issue:
So recently on my timed full-length sections I have been doing very well and have been scoring -1 to -3 for both LR and RC. But then on my PTs I fall apart and score way worse like -3 to -8
Its getting pretty frustrating because how can I go from getting -1 on 3 LR sections in a row to -7 when its a on a PT
What are ways to improve 1. stamina and 2. anxiety and stress. I think my main issue is that I feel so much pressure to score well on my PTS that I overthink and generally just freeze up.
Thanks for the help and advice!

Hi! For stamina, that comes with just taking more PT's. If you're concerned about using up PTs, earlier tests are a great thing to use. Even if you've seen some of the questions before, you're still forcing your brain to lock in for 3 hours.
For nerves, making sure you have a "toolkit" that you can refer to when you get stuck. What's your game plan for a given question type? Do you start by identifying the main conclusion and premises? Do you pre-phrase? What are some touch points you can lean on when things get scary?
Having little rituals can also help. Is there a goofy quote or doodle you can write on your scratch paper when you first sit down? A breathing exercise? When I get anxious, I like to think about how the ground feels underneath my feet.
I hope that helps, and good luck!
In the exact same spot. I think some of it may also result from the PTs being the most recent question types as opposed to the sections/drilling I've been doing.
Also, I am trying to work on stamina by taking multiple sections (or drills with 4 passages or 25 questions) in a row during my practice sessions. I was also advised to practice in the morning before my work, which I recently started.
