Here's what I sent to the lsat feedback form here (https://www.lsac.org/send-us-your-feedback) regarding the interface coming up. I just had to spend a full fucking minute looking for "second-to-last sentence of the second paragraph of passage A, second-to-last sentence of the first paragraph of passage B" with no highlights before I even got to finish reading the rest of the question. The August test takers will undoubtedly have a disadvantage compared to everyone who already have their scores with this bullshit.
I am writing again regarding the new LSAT interface, particularly in light of the additional changes that have now been implemented.
RC line citations are no longer automatically highlighted. Masking mode resets between questions. Selected answers cannot be deselected or eliminated without additional steps. Eliminated answers must be unmasked before they can be selected. Highlighting and answer elimination have both become more cumbersome.
You have already told me that some of these changes are simply due to "the underlying structure of the new test driver platform." I find that response deeply unsatisfactory. LSAC charges students hundreds of dollars to take this exam and generates substantial revenue from LawHub and related services. If LSAC genuinely wanted to provide the best possible testing experience, "the platform is structured this way" would not be an acceptable excuse for repeatedly introducing unnecessary friction into a high-stakes examination.
LSAC frequently presents itself as an organization committed to advancing access to legal education and maintaining the integrity of the law school admissions process. If you truly believe in that mission, then you should be deeply concerned about introducing changes that make the exam more difficult to navigate, particularly just weeks before an administration, while asking students who have spent months preparing to simply adapt.
The LSAT is supposed to measure reasoning ability. It should not measure how effectively a test taker can compensate for an increasingly cumbersome interface.
You have the resources to do better. The old user interface was infinitely better than this joke of a design. I would encourage LSAC to seriously reconsider whether these limitations should have been accepted in the first place.
You owe test takers more than "that's how the new platform works." You owe us an examination experience that is fair, accessible, and worthy of the organization you claim to be.

Unfortunately, since we released the preview of the new user interface in March, we have made several changes in response to user feedback and updated some features. However, some of these features cannot be changed due to the structure of the new platform.
We encourage you to continue taking practice tests in LawHub to become familiar with the new interface. Should you encounter any technical difficulties, please contact us with a description of the issue and any screenshots so we can review and correct any issues.
Please contact us if you have any additional questions and we will be happy to assist.
TLDR: we know its shit, sucks to suck lmao.
I sincerely hope the ongoing Risner vs LSAC case bankrupts every single one of them.
But, my LSAT brothers and sisters, we must stay focused as we can only play the hand that we have been dealt. I believe every person who has committed to studying on this platform has all the means to succeed on this test in spite of whatever bullshit they throw at us. LSAT, democrat, bureaucrat, IT DONT MATTER, 175!!!!!!!

I completely agree with this assessment; the amount of time I have spent fumbling to deselect an AC I eliminated in error is crazy. There was nothing wrong with the old system from a user perspective. I have had to change my testing strategy just because of this update. There was no reason to roll it out now; I know the June exam is technically part of the 2025-2026 cycle, but I would hazard a guess that a lot of people took it for the upcoming 2026-2027 cycle, so I think it would have been smarter to implement this change in like April when the cycle is effectively over to give applicants for the upcoming cycle more time to prepare.
Couldn’t agree more with this post truly. You said it best, the test is meant to test reasoning ability. If a student does worse due to their poor interface than that is no fault of the student’s reasoning skills. I genuinely hate the new interface and I encourage everyone to continue to send them messages about our opinions.
At this point I'm just hoping that all the schools are aware of these changes and will take them into account when looking at scores from August 2026 onward :/
Just FYI -- I sent a similarly disgruntled email asking for a phone call back to explain these changes, and they responded to me with an explanation of how to use the highlight feature... like girl. That is so clearly NOT what I was asking for.
having to click an additional 1-2x to to highlight, eliminate answer choices, etc, wastes so much valuable time. for an exam where time and pacing is a major component of it, the new interface totally interferes with that.

AMEN I thought I was losing my mind how often I have to click things to make it work, so much wasted time. The LSAC drills are still the old format, but guessing on your message that the 7sage format is the one that will be used...I'm taking it in august....RIP

@Elecoo Yeah :/ I recently took a practice test and just like OP the ctrl f (searching) helps, but still takes up so much time. Highlighting is slower too now ://.

You are the second person this week that I have heard compaints from about LSAC representatives. The other person called in for assistamce and they reported speaking with someone who was extremely rude and unhelpful. Smh.

Wow, the sheer arrogance of LSAC is wild. We spend hundreds of dollars on this test, and instead of giving us a functional platform, they just keep making the interface harder to navigate for no reason. Like, let’s not fix what isn't broken?
They are testing us for our logical skills, memory, and endurance... not our ability to play a strange game of Eye Spy. Maybe I'm too woke, but I have to point this out: they're making it much harder for testers with disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, visual impairments, et cetera.
Seriously, thank you for writing this out and calling them out so thoroughly. Do you have any advice going forward for how you're prepping around this mess? I have my test on Friday 🥀
@Zosia<3 Honestly I'm not sure lol, my test is also on Fri, I'm not sure there's a whole lot we can do systemically going forwards. I've been practicing with it the past months on 7sage and other platforms, I'm more used to it now, and tbh I think the new highlighting color selection system is actually more helpful for me, the other changes once I committed to muscle memory aren't isn't too bad. I still think this little curveball they're trying won't stop anyone who's studied thoroughly from succeeding.
Do we think they’re going to fix it for the fall (Sept onward)? Would it be worth rescheduling a test over? Or is this a permanent update they have no desire to fix.
