Hi there. I have taken this test too many times and all of those times have been virtual. I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to if there are differences in prepping for the in-person exam or things to be wary of to try to make sure I don't get thrown by this change. I have been taking my PTs at the local library in a cubicle, without headphones (since I wear glasses). It can be noisy especially since there are programs for young children on the weekends but I think filtering that out has been a needed exercise.

I appreciate any thoughts or advice. This is also my last attempt so I am pretty on edge about it :) Thanks

bring earplugs!! i used these and heard absolutely nothing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DYP396CX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. my testing room had people coughing, sniffling, chairs squeaking, mouses clicking, etc. I'm sensitive to noise and get easily distracted so having earplugs was a blessing.

also, on your way to the testing center, try to do something that brings you joy or calms you down. for me, that meant using a scooter to get to the testing center since having wind blowing in my face makes me happy and feel calm. just try to do something that can lull your anxiety, if you get test-day anxiety.

-use your break quickly and wisely (go to the bathroom and refuel with snacks)

-bring a clear water bottle with no labels (tear them off before)

-you need to bring your ID

-visit the testing center in advance if possible

Also, go off with your scores! You clearly got this

I didn’t take any online, so I can’t speak to the differences but a couple notes:

I’d say it’s worth going to the center (30-45min) early! If you like to get things over with, the center (that I went to at least) started admitting testers as they showed up, even if it was before the designated start time. That might vary by center or how busy it is that day, but I’ve seen others mention to get there early in case there are lots of testers.

Also, maybe it’s changed, but the breaktime screen said to raise your hand and wait for the proctor, but at my center, you just had to get up and talk to them. They’ll tell you what time it is—make sure you remember it! There should be a clock in the lobby
