Can't believe I got this one right lol. Didn't even know what that word meant. I just knew the rest weren't strengthening.
Yes I understand the answer but this makes no sense. You would think the authors assumption is the private the park is the better the quality and the price, but no the answer makes it depend on the size of the competition??? That's some BS. The stimulus didn't say anything about the bigger the competition the better the results, that's what the answer is giving. Apparently since it mentioned the competition period and that's what the author is relying on that's why it's the answer.
Got this one wrong too, but thankfully blind review got it right. That's better than alllll wrong regualr answer and blind review. Which is whats been happening/
Yeah I definitely need to drill these because I keep getting them wrong. When I figure out the right answer its over something so small and simple.
Finally retook a 5th time and got 60% right. I always retake these until I get majority or more right.
I have retaken these 3 times!!! that's 15 questions. best I've got is 40%. These are hard. Clearly, we're not getting them.
Okay I did better this time on the 5 questions than the 1 on 1 questions, 80% maybe because I’ve really been trying to understand why I’ve been getting them wrong.
These are kicking my butt!!! I keep getting the last 4-5 wrong. They’re all soooo similar. Think what’s catching me up is not focusing on the conclusion opposed to the stimulus maybe. What helped me previously on another set of questions for another subject is retaking the questions if I’m wrong until I got majority right. I noticed maybe that’s just for the set of 5 questions instead of 1 question. Can we change that please? I did save the questions and subjects so maybe I can drill on those in my own time as well.
This most definitely needs to be a video, because whattttt? Like yes the beginning is easy to understand but the end absolutely not. I’ll figure it out In practicing.
@E Okay I think I just solved my own confusion. I'm to post my explanation hope this helps someone else too.
The more c's you have the more cancer you have. Cancer is more common in ppl who have less c's. (assumption is that c's cause cancer). If you limit your c's in your diet you're less likely to get cancer.
Answer: People who have a predisposition to cancer have no more c's in their diet than those who don't have c's.
If most people who have a predisposition to cancer eat no more c's in their diets than other people who don't have a predisposition, that doesn't explain why more c's seems to be associated with cancer. It could be that people who have the gene also eat c's too, it's ruling out genetics being the factor, not ruling out the c's.
It doesn't prove that c causes cancer and it doesn't prove that limiting c's in our diet will reduce our chances of getting cancer, but it does protect the authors argument from one possibility that would have weakened it. Which is less or more c's causes cancer. Since it protects it, it strengthens it. (Now we didn't say by A LOT but it does. UPSURD but just pay attention try your best to weed it out from the answers.
It's insane to me that an answer can be considered right for a strengthening question if it doesn't weaken it, but it doesn't necessarily support it either. Just protects the assumption.
In the example I would have assumed answer choice A, weakens it. It's so tricky you have to pay real close attention. It's not necessarily saying iron causes Parkison's but it's saying you just have the probability of receiving it more.
But answer choice A weakens the assumption though that's where I'm confused because if the answer is people who have a predispositon (more likely to get it aka Develop) don't have no more iron in their diet than those who don't contract the disease who's food is rich in iron.. isn't it saying it doesn't matter the amount of iron you can still develop Parkison's?? Doesn't that weaken it? Or it doesn't because it says "Predispositon" and not "develop Parksions"... I hope someone understands where I'm confused at.
Now every rule so far has been understandable except this one. I understand the meaning behind the rule, but when I’m practicing it is Not a clear rule, what if what I consider is useful or not is inaccurate. This is a big grey area
PT113.S3.Q16 is sooo confusing and the explanation, we need two version of the explanation for this one.
I did terrible on these 5 questions, why did I only get one right....... It's going to get better.
I'm getting very close with these, I'm always down to the last two and end up choosing the wrong one, but blind review the right one. Makes me mad because I could have gotten it right the 1st time, so I retake it and choose the right answer to make me feel better to show correct. UGGGGGHHHH!
