I learned this from Khan Academy which has helped, but in most of the parallel reasoning questions, extremity is also a factor. So since the stimuli is not an extreme (I.e. never, always, etc.), I eliminated any of the options that were too extreme compared to the stimuli.
That helped me narrow it down to A and C. From there, it’s just mapping out the logic.
Unsure if 7Sage has more on this later since I’m not done with the foundations yet. But if you still struggle with this, Khan Academy has article explanations of each of the LR question types.
I started there and it has helped me understand the questions while 7Sage is helping me clarify the stimuli.
From my understanding, “if not” is not an indicator itself. But the indicators “unless”, “until”, and “without” mean “if not” in lawgic. So by switching the language it creates a clearer picture for you.
I found that I kept forgetting to negate my sufficient condition here. So this switch helped me remember that. Hope this helps!
Can someone please put this “To ensure that a legal system remains just, it is important to guarantee that lawbreaking does not give lawbreakers an unfair advantage over law abiders” in lawgic form?
I’m reading it as “just legal system —> no advantage for law breaking”.
