I stared at this question so long until I realized B has nothing to do with the persons "motivation" for the tech advancement. Sure, "technology beneficial to society as a whole cannot be commercially viable," but this cannot be the answer, because the author is talking about the instance where the persons motives are misaligned.

@wgresh this question is very clearly E, it's not even debatable. if you live to over 100, living an unhealthy lifestyle and have a sister that also lived a long time (100+), then irrespective of your lifestyle choices you have a predisposition to living a long time. This ultimately confirms the hypothesis that genetics are the driving factor not lifestyle, given that so few people ever live over 100+.

@c00lbeans look at the word "some" in the answer choice and the lack of specification of the kind of projects mentioned in the stim.
