Another Study Group with a 9-5

Hey team! I'm looking for study partners who work a 9-5 job in Florida or in the Eastern Time Zone (EST). My goal is to achieve a score of 165 and above, and I would love to organize a motivated group of positive individuals to make this test prep enjoyable and help us stay on track, even on our most tiring days before and after work. This isn't easy, but there is strength in numbers!

Admin note: Edited title. Please do not post threads or comments in all caps. This is against the Forum Rules. Thanks!

I was stuck between A and B. Ended up chose B because I assumed "people who participated in last years clean up" didn't mean the same people. Just people in general who participated, which now I see is very wrong.

I discredited A under the assumption that "based on an observation of a similar situation" did not mean THIS similar situation but a different one; the argument did not compare two different situations, so I crossed it out.

UGH, the balance of overthinking...

Is this a prescriptive argument? The professor makes the argument that rap doesn’t fit the assumption prescribing what traditional music is?

In the homo sapien question, answer choice E strengthed the question but over did it making it unecessary to the reasoning. I applied the same principle to this question... sadly this was the necessary assumption

There is not a difficult thing unless you decide it's a difficult thing. Otherwise, it's just the next thing you are figuring out. Stay positive. We go this!

Test strategy is key. I would have skipped this question after giving it my best guess and came back to it at the end to reconsider.

I second-guessed myself. I thought answer C was too broad and generalized. Rules that are overly inclusive are not a defect!!

Answer Choice C) Use of a pesticide is acceptable only if it is used for its intended purpose and the pesticide has been shown not to harm any portion of the population.

Only If is group 2 and introduces the two necessary conditions. If one or both of the premises in the stimulus fail the necessary conditions of the answer choice then we can conclude that the use of pesticides is unacceptable.

conditions 1: It is used for its intended purpose.

Yes! This agrees with the stimulus premises. TMD is a pesticide intended for and actually used on peaches.

conditions 2: the pesticide has been shown not to harm any portion of the population.

No! The stimulus premises just told us that we do not know if TMD is harmful.

Therefore, we can conclude the contrapositive fo the argument.

If a pesticide is potentially (the threshold is "most help to justify") harmful to a portion of the population, then it is unacceptable.

The contrapositive of the answer choice rule bridges the gap the between stimulus's premises and the conclusion.

This is my take on answer choice C. Please add any thoughts or feedback!! Thanks.

Hey team,

I am so confused LOL. Why is it important to understand that the two chained "most" claims yield no inference? Why is it irrelevant?

PS —m→ birds —m→ fish

“A —m→ B —m→ C” yields no inferences. This should clue you into the fact that these will be irrelevant claims.

Thank you for the help.

Answer choice A: Concludes that gigantic planes will have enough space to hold passengers, shops, and lounges. We know this from the first sentence, but it’s not the point the author is trying to make. This answer choice summarizes the context!!!

Answer choice B: Concludes that the additional space in gigantic planes currently being developed is --more likely-- to be filled with passenger seating. The author is making this assumption/conclusion and then provides two premises to support. Also, HOWEVER is the conclusion indicator. The answer choice also uses -- most likely-- just like the stimulus.

I hope this helps :) I wish you well on your LSAT!

Hi Team,

Could someone help me turn this into Lawgic? I appreciate your help.

Most classically trained opera singers can recite the lyrics to Musetta's Waltz and most people who have not received such training cannot. It seems likely, therefore, that Anna, who can recite the lyrics to Musetta's Waltz, was classically trained.

My answer: CTRW --m--> /CTRW

_

CTRW

A (for anna)

I know this is wrong... Could it be that "Most classically trained opera singers can recite the lyrics to Musetta's Waltz" serves as context and not a premise?

Sorry, why is the second statement valid because we confused the sufficient for the necessary? I didn't think we did?

#HELP Could someone explain their thought process behind question number 8?

The explanation says the first sentence doesn't matter to draw the conclusion, but it was still translated into logic... How should I have known?
