May I ask what are your reasons for asking for accommodation? I want to as well but I am not sure they will take it. I have ADHD.

I switch it up. I have an office in my house which I use the majority of the time. Sometimes I will study at my kitchen table.

Depending on if I feel like getting out of sweat pants and brushing my hair I will go to the university in my city and study in a library just for a change of scenery.

I think the main thing is to have some variety - because your test centre will not be like home.

Good luck :)

Turn that bad day around.

Hey smarties!

I am trying to post things that are funny and light hearted to bring smiles to some of you going through a rough time.

The other day was a rough one. I did a PT and my head wasn't in it and I scored well below my average. Needless today I started crying, like ugly cry when Mufasa in the Lion Kings dies. It was a disaster. My roommate came home at that time and his only solution was to feed me I guess.

He took me out for a burger. This was a big deal because I don't eat junk food at all. It was the best burger I ever had. I went home and wrote another prep test and scored higher than my average.

All days can be turned around. Don't stress over a bad PT, eat a burger instead (3

I hope this picture makes you smile and makes you believe in the power of burgers.

I was the same way at first, and I started literally going crazy. I would lock myself in my house all day. It got to the point where if anyone said anything to me that wasn't perfect I'd cry - not good.

I found that in the middle of the day while I study I will go to the gym. Usually I'll do a Prep test in the am and then go the gym and then come home and go over it.

Definitely need to take some breaks!

Best of luck :)

Hey!

First, good on you for being so open and honest - strong person you are!

I don't want to cross any lines or get too personal but have you tried seeking out some psychological help? Mental health is just as important as physical health and perhaps a therapist would be able to help you with coping strategies for anxiety.

I'm sorry I am not able to be any more help, but if you need a person to talk to you please feel free to send me a message.

Best of luck!

@.rizeq haha, that made me laugh! Isn't it gross how now everything people say and do we can find the logical flaw? Ah, the joys.

@.avdagic I think sometimes the biggest mistake we can make is comparing ourselves to other people and how they study. We are all guilty of it. However, everyone is different and everyone has a different approach and methods to study which are specific to that person. If you don't feel ready, don't write. If you do, give it a try. Either way do what is best for you - no matter what anyone else says. Also, there are MANY MANY great lawyers who were not the best on LSAT - don't let that stop you.

Stay strong girl, we are all in this together!

A huge thing for me was when I heard Nicole Hopkins say she had no thoughts on if a passage was hard or not, it was just another passage

Yes! I agree @. After doing SO many RC passages I tried hard to stop thinking about the difficulty. A few times I thought "this is so easy" and blasted through the questions really fast and got a lot wrong because I thought since the passage was "easy" the questions were easy. I now look at all passages the same, and I try to be excited every time :) It works!

I honestly think that if this were true, JY would have made that clear in one of his lessons. I have done this course and the PowerScore Bibles and its never mentioned, so I am sure its not a thing.

Methods to Approach RC

I don't know about any of you, but RC was my weakest section. I was shocked at this because I am a very good reader. What I have concluded is it was my weakest section because of attitude towards it, not because I don't understand the material. Ever since I changed my attitude about the section, my score improved. I tried really hard to be positive and WANT to do the section, rather than HAVING to do the section. I also tried to steer away from looking at the questions as simply questions and I started to look at it is as more of figuring out a puzzle ( answering the questions is putting the puzzle together). I found I was better able to interact with the passage and the questions.

Maybe I am actually just going insane, but I think attitude is everything.

Happy studying you smarties :)

This is how I broke down the argument.

It says, this year lets call it 2016 a flood hit small Rivertown. Hollyville (H) sent aid, lets say 10 people. It says that this 10 people surpassed the people H sent in to another town a few years ago. Lets say in 2013 they sent 6 people. It goes on to say THIS year, 2016 was a reversal of last year which would be 2015. BECAUSE H was the RECIPIENT of aid due to a disaster in 2015 and this year 2016 they are SUPPLIERS of aid.

Broken down more simply:

2013 - H supplies 6 people to help in a disaster

2015 - H is recipient of help

2016 - H supplies 10 people to help in a disaster

Notice what changes is AFTER H experienced a disaster, they sent more people the following year than they previously had.

Answer D matches this exactly!

Hope this helps!

OK! I think I just got this question.

I initially had A, and then switched it to D because I wanted to matched the auditing process in the stimulus to the auditors in the answer choice.

HOWEVER, I now understand why A is correct.

This is ALMOST like an explain the discrepancy question... meaning that the answer we are looking for is asking us to give a reason as to why the discrepancy exists. In the stimulus they are speaking of SEPARATE transactions: large and small. We need to figure out WHY the small ones who get extra money in the accounts DO get detected and WHY the large ones DON'T.

In answer A, IF the banks were to use two different computer systems, one for large accounts and one for small, the LARGE bank account computer could be faulty and therefore why it it could result in large accounts missing detecting the extra money being deposited.

It took me awhile to see that there was a distinction between large and small accounts because small accounts were not explicitly stated in the stimulus.

I hope this helps!
