Is your account expiring near/before the September LSAT?

Hey guys! If you're taking the LSAT and your account is inconveniently set to expire a few days before the test date, just email me (dillon@7sage.com) and I'll extend your account for free through the September test. (Make sure you include your 7Sage email!)

I can guarantee you that my inbox will fill up with these, so give me time to reply to them all. If your account expires by the time I get to your email, don't worry, I'll reactivate it for you. :)

For those of you who are expiring after, good luck on the LSAT! We here at 7Sage are rooting for you.

    [User Question] Comparison Paragraphs?

Hey guys! Had a 7Sager email in with a question that I thought you guys could help out with. Note that any iterations of "you" are referencing J.Y.

I have a question for you regarding reading comprehension, specifically the comparison passages.

I noticed that in several older videos/tests with the comparison passages, you read both passages first and then went straight to the questions. In the newer tests though, I saw that you did one comparison passage first, then went to the questions and answered them or eliminated answer choices, and then read the second passage and returned to the questions afterwards. When I do this second approach of reading one passage, going to the questions, and then reading the second passage VERSUS reading both passages before the questions, I end up spending more time on the questions.

Would it be wiser for me to stick to reading both passages first and then heading over to the questions, OR should I retrain myself to the method that you have been doing in newer tests of reading one passage and then going to the questions before reading the second passage?

Also, I'm curious what your view is on marking/notating the passages while reading the passage. Your videos focus on the memory method. For me personally, I have to underline and circle words in order to stay focused and engaged with the reading. I've seen different methods regarding notating such as the Powerscore book and Nicole Hopkins' methods of Reading Comp. From your experience, do most of the high test takers whom you have worked with heavily mark the passage or not as they read?

    Thanks!

[Student Question] PTs before the Feb. LSAT

Hey guys, a 7Sager asked a question and I thought you guys could help out! Here it is:

I have about 10 fresh PTs left and I'm registered for the February test, and was wondering if it would be advisable for me to leave all of them untouched for the June test or to go through only the LG sections before the Feb test? I heard there are a lot of curveballs/weird games for the late 70s tests which I haven't solved yet, and so I thought it would be a good idea to get as much exposure to them.

And in the meanwhile, would it be best for me to re-take older PTs that I've forgotten and hardcore blind review like we did together?

[User Question] Lower score with 7Sage?

Hey 7Sagers, had a user email me in with a question that I thought you'd be great at answering. Here it is:

    Hi All,

I need your help urgently! I have been wanting to go to law school for years but was never able to score highly enough on the practice tests. Then I quit my job and decided to take a class and study full time. I picked 7Sage over all the other classes that I researched. I started March 18th and was at 144 on the June 2007 test now that I did the course I have been taking practice tests and I got a 134. I had been hoping to take the June test but decided to push back until September. So many questions for you. 1. Was the 7Sage course a waste of time and money since my score dropped 10 points? 2. What should I do now? Take practice tests and get a tutor to go over it with me? Do any of you tutor? Anyone willing to work with me? Thanks for your help in advance.

Official September 2017 LSAT Discussion Thread

Hey guys! Here's the official Feb. LSAT Discussion Thread. Please keep all discussions of the Feb. 2017 LSAT here!

Here's some ground rules, taken from my usual sticky:

We know that everyone will be excited to discuss what was on the Sept. '17 LSAT, but mentioning specifics about the test (e.g., "I got B for question 6" or "the 3rd LG was sequencing") can get both us and you in a lot of trouble with LSAC. Saying that the test was hard/easy without going into detail is okay, but anything more specific is not okay. LSAC monitors this forum.

If you're unsure what may be too specific, feel free to PM me with what you'd like to post.

The only exception is you can say which sections were real or experimental. For example, the LG with "flowers" was experimental. That's okay.

TL;DR: PLEASE don't talk specifics about September's LSAT!

    [Student Question] Trainer & 7Sage?

Hey guys, had a student email in asking how to best use the LSAT Trainer and 7Sage together. We don't have a guide on how to do that so I thought you guys could help out. Here's the email:

I just had a quick question. It might be a question that does not have an answer yet or it does have one. Before i signed up for the 7sage i read online and a lot of people stated the way your course is was similar and goes perfectly with the LSAT trainer book by Mike Kim. My main question is that do you have some sort of document or PDF that gives you the page number of the lesson a student would be currently on in the 7sage course to the LSAT trainer book? That way if a student like myself who cannot afford to pay for the ultimate package, can still have access to more questions via the LSAT trainer book. is there something of that sort? Just thought i would ask.

    Update to the "Mentor" title!

Hey 7Sagers, just wanted to update you on a small change we're making with our "Mentor" title.

We've had the title available for a long time and it has done wonders for the community, so special thanks to all past and present Mentors! The title has kind of evolved over the years into something better (at least in my opinion) and with that, we wanted to change up the name.

"Mentor" sounds like you'd be talking with someone who is a LSAT master—but not everyone is aware that our Mentors might still be studying for the LSAT and are just trying to help out. So, instead, we're switching the title over to a star (⭐). This will show that you're important to the 7Sage community the same way that "Mentor" does, but without the responsibility that some of the students might accidentally put on you of being a perfectly oiled machine, so to speak.

We're still trying this out and are thinking of different ways to incentivize all of this, so we may add more stars for students who help out more. If you have ideas, let us know!

"Accurate and Complete List" Type Questions

    Hey guys,

Got a great question from a student that I thought you could help with. Here it is!

Do you mind answering a question I have about "accurate and complete list" type Qs on the logic games?

So, if I'm not mistaken, for a question like: "Which one of the following is a list of variables, any one of which cannot belong to group A?", we have to check ALL possible worlds and come up with a complete list of all the variables from all the possible worlds that cannot go in A.

--as opposed to: a question like "Which one of the following could be the list of variables that go in group A?" Because this question doesn't have the phrase "any one of which," it would suffice to find an answer choice that matches just ONE of the possible worlds, right?

    So my question is:

For a question like "Which one of the following CANNOT be the complete assignment of paralegals to the Thompson case?" (PT 69 G4 Q22), would we have to check ALL possible worlds or just ONE possible world? I'm thinking that because it's not phrased as "Which one of the following is a list of paralegals, any one of whom cannot be assigned to the Thompson case," it would be enough to circle the answer choice that matches just ONE of the possible worlds. Is my intuition correct?

Sorry, this is so much to read through, but it would mean so much to me if you could help me out with this, as I am really confused!

    [Student Question] Grouping Games

Hey 7Sagers, had a student email me with a question that I thought you could help with. Here it is:

I seem to be struggling with the grouping games. Like which diagram to use, and if any key words support a diagram decision. I would also appreciate any further advice? Any example from prep tests 76, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, and/or all would be awesome.

Shopping for parts is such a rabbit hole of intrigue. I built my PC a few years ago and almost got carried away with it. Nowadays I just play Path of Exile and League of Legends. I keep meaning to try PUBG but I hear it's full of bugs still.

PUBG isn't really full of bugs anymore. They've done a great job with fixing most of the bugs. They've also done a great job optimizing the game so you don't need a $5,000 gaming pc to run it smoothly. At this point, it's the hackers you need to worry about lol. I used to play LoL with a few friends of mine. Pretty intense game.

I never got in to SC. I was never really exposed to it. I went from Age of Empires 1, Warcraft Tides of Darkness, and Duke Nukem 3D right in to console gaming. I dabbled with Hitman and then stuff like Half Life 2, especially the original Insurgency mod, but after that not much else. At least not until I built my PC after undergrad.

I can't wait for Blizz to do what it did for old Starcraft and optimize the Warcraft games for newer PCs imo... Loved the Warcraft series.

Oh yes, very much so... That cinematic with Sylvanas actually showing us her Banshee powers had me SO hype. And SAURFANG MY MAN!

I'm a Hordie for life even though I've been dabbling Alliance lately with my girlfriend... But buff King Anduin, man. He's ripped.

I preordered the expansion the day it came out (which was this past Tuesday haha) and already am playing my Nightborne and Highmountain Tauren.

Casual Illidan Horde right here lol. Currently stuck on not being able to get back to Draenor. Any tips?

In-game? You might want to grab a portal from a mage, not sure if the DHs get the garrison hearthstones or not.

    Official December LSAT Discussion Thread

Hey guys! Here's the official December LSAT Discussion Thread. Please keep all discussions of the December 2017 LSAT here!

Here's some ground rules, taken from my usual sticky:

We know that everyone will be excited to discuss what was on the Dec.

TL;DR: PLEASE don't talk specifics about December's LSAT!

Here's where you can see the current Real/Experimental Sections:

    Have fun discussing!

how about the test centers? will all the test centers be available for July test date? i know some test centers are open on some dates and not on others. any info on this?

Don't think there's any info yet. I just updated the registration page on 7Sage (https://classic.7sage.com/lsat-dates-and-registration-deadlines-for-united-states-and-canada/) with everything that's available, but the July info is not yet up. You may want to contact LSAC to find out about your question.

    Confirm action

    Are you sure?
