Writing out logical equations

Hey folks,

For which question types in LR am I supposed to write out a logical equations (translating the stimulus)? And, for those question types, when am I to employ intuition vs. writing out logical equations?

I'm really struggling with translating convoluted/complex stimulus into logical equations and then back into English again to find the answer choice. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

I assume you've decided to opt out of purchasing them? I purchased them and once I complete the program, I'll blow the dust off of them and take them. That's my current strategy *shrugs*

Failing Sufficient and Necessary

Hi folks,

I'm currently on the section of our syllabus that requires us to draw valid conclusions. I can't seem to figure out why/when to fail sufficient and necessary conditions.

(i.e.) Y-->G-->H-->B

/H

Can someone help explain?! Much appreciated!

Whew!

My fellow 7Sagers!

I just took my first PT after curriculum and experienced a +15pt increase! My diagnostic was 143. My goal is 165.

Any advice on how I can move from PT to PT and see even greater improvement? I'm trying to maximize the next two months (September 24 is game day). Obviously don't mind surpassing my goal score! :) #WhateverItTakes

Summer before applying

Hi all,

I've taken my LSAT and am now waiting for the score. I want to get a head start on the applications (recognizing that most applications open during September). I've completed my Personal Statement and writing up a diversity statement now. Is there a resource out there that has a list of essay requirements from top law schools (for example, list of essay questions or guidelines)? I'm aware that the essays typically change year-to-year but any resource to get me a head start would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is my life story. I take 495 to work in the morning/night about 30 miles one way (its a disaster). So, I changed up my study schedule. I wake up at 5:45 - I'm beating a majority of traffic by getting to work by 7am. I study for two hours until 9. And then at 5pm, I go work out near my job (to get my body and mind pumping) and then study until 7:30/8pm. By the time I get on the road, traffic is minimal. I crash upon arrival and repeat.

Hi @.e.u_89 & @,

I rarely write on these boards (although, I like to read them) but I thought today might be an appropriate time to share my experience. I'm in the same boat as you. I studied for eight months. I took time off of work. I did everything I was supposed to do. I followed the game plan. As I was PTing, I wasn't hitting my target score - and that should have been confirmation for me not to take the test. I did anyway (praying for an Aaron Rodgers hail mary). I scored 7 points less than my average PT score and 15 points less than my target. Yesterday wasn't the greatest day. But, I'm juiced! I'm so excited to get back at it. I'm going to give it everything. I want you guys to know, it's been done before. People have scored perfect on this exam. You aren't doing the unthinkable, the unattainable, the impossible. You are aiming for something that has been DONE BEFORE. You are JUST as capable. You can reach your target score.

So, as I'm writing this, I'm realizing this was my pep talk to myself yesterday. But, clearly something I did didn't work when I prepped. I need a new game plan. I'm not taking December. In fact, I'm not even hopping into this cycle. I'll sit it out. My time will come. I want to understand the language of logic. I want to fall in love with it. I want to know its deepest imperfections and in return reveal my imperfections. I have decided to retake the course. All 237 hours. Build bridges and close gaps. The payout to performing well on this exam is TOO high to walk away from. The most important thing is to realize that you're doing this for the opportunity to practice and perform what you love every day of your life. You're doing this to build new networks, skills and memories. This is only a part of your testimony. There are and will be many more who feel how we feel right now. Your testimony will guide them to their finish line. Your story will shape theirs. I'm happy to work with you through this process and I'm sure we have the support of the entire 7sage community. We're in this together. See you guys at the top! :)

Quick Question

When I'm going through the course (particularly the problem sets) and I notice I'm not doing well, should I go do more practice problems from the question bank or move on to the next chapter on my syllabus after finishing all the practice problem sets?

Really need help!

Hey folks,

I'm in some need of advice! I took my first PT out of curriculum (PT 36) and scored 157 (diagnostic: 143). But now, my score has dropped to 152, 154. My LR sections can range from -12 to -5. I really want to get it to -2 or -3! I need some help on getting my score to finally break 160!

Best Strategies? Need help.

Hey folks!

I've spent the last couple of months (since February) studying and working full-time. I'm nearing the end of my curriculum. In fact, I've arranged an opportunity to be able to take about 2.5 months off of work to study full-time before the September exam. I'm really looking for some advice on what/how to study + drill over those months. Any success stories with points/knowledge gains over the BR portion of studying? Any advice before I begin will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks:)
