If it is worth anything, I was in the same boat. I remember feeling frustrated because my scores weren't moving, but I knew I had more knowledge than before. Keep doing more and more practice tests. I truly started to see the difference when I took around 20 tests. One day, my score just changed. I honestly couldn't tell you how, but I believe it was a combo of doing timed sections every minute I had the chance, practice tests, blind review, and making sure I nailed LG every time which was my strength section. You will get there!

Overall, a pretty straightforward test. Thankfully, after the nightmare of September...

LR1: Ok

LG: Weird but ill take it

LR2: Decent

LR3: Easy (experimental)

RC: Typical, on the harder end but I don't know bc RC is always hard for me

I know that the diagnostic can be discouraging, but please know that it does not define you in any way. Sure, people who score higher on the diagnostic don't have as much work to do, but it does not mean you both cannot end up in the same place. I've been studying for over a year, and I truly believe the LSAT is an exam that can be learned. I started off not knowing how to do games at all. I think I got like 6 right on my diagnostic or something like that. I got 100% for games on a PT last night. It just took a lot of time and a lot of practice. You will get there. You will just have to work hard and have confidence that you can reach your goals.

I would say keep it. You never know if you made up for your LG in the LR and RC sections. I am in the same boat. I know I bombed LG, but I think the rest of the test went well. You could still end up with a 164, especially if they give a decent curve. The only way I would cancel is if you don't feel completely confident in the other 3 sections. Good luck!

I would say take it in January if you can commit your time to 2-3 hours per day, and do lots of practice tests. It also depends on when you are wanting to apply. Taking it in January would be best if you want to apply for Fall 2020 since most schools are on a rolling basis and will have more spots the earlier you apply. Good luck!

Help with study approach 3rd time around

Hi all,

Similar to most of you, I am a bit bummed about Saturday's test. I have been studying for about a year now, and felt really prepared. I took the July test, and canceled because it was not where I want to be (164+). Before Saturday, my practice tests were falling between 164-169. I believe I did really well on LR, ok on RC, but I know that I bombed LG horribly. The chances are pretty slim that I score 164 even if I did well on those LR sections. I was already signed up for October, but I'm feeling a bit discouraged and stressed on how to study at this point. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to study for someone who has already gone through all practice tests from 30-87. Should I retake tests I've already taken? Should I use early tests for practice? I was also wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the amount of studying from now until October. Any help is really appreciated!

Thanks!

Lauren

Wow that LG was brutal. Usually get -0/-2 on games. I probably missed 12. LR was oddly easy, RC was normal. Hopefully the curve reflects that games section.

146 to164 --- Thank you 7sage

Hi all,

I wanted to thank 7sage for providing amazing and affordable resources for my LSAT journey. It was a long and exhausting, but definitely worth it. I studied for over a year, and it was always encouraging to see stories where people had improved significantly. I hope that my story helps others to see that improving by 18 points or more is totally possible with hard work! Good luck to everyone on the rest of their LSAT studies!

I also had a similar experience. I was PTing 164-167, and it was a shock to see a 155 yesterday. Not only did LG get me, so did RC which I did not see coming. I am going to make sure I get LG to my fullest potential since that's my strength, and try to find consistency with RC. Its tough with the test so close. Good luck with everything!

Which tests do you practice with? I hear a lot of people say the newer tests are more difficult but I can't tell how you really measure that or if it's true

I practiced with everything from 30-87. I did find that the older tests were different. LR was easier, but LG was a little bit harder for me because I didn't start using older tests until I ran out of newer ones. The older games felt a little different. I was told 60+ is the best to practice because that is closer to what you will see. I think RC and LR have gotten harder over the years. LG wasn't too terrible until this most recent test where it was unusual.

Reviewing LSAT

Hi,

I received my September LSAT, and would love to go over the test with someone else who has also taken it via video chat. Are there any rules against this? I understand that you cannot sell or distribute the test, but I was not sure about this. If there are no rules against it, does anyone want to go over the test who will be taking it again? I would particularly like to talk about LG.

Thanks,

Lauren
