Epilogue

Hi guys,

I haven't written in a while and some of you have seen my posts as I was prepping for the LSAT. I'd like to let you all know that I actually got into law school! I just graduated from undergrad with my BA in Biology and Spanish a week ago and I will be attending U New Hampshire in the Fall! I couldn't have asked for a better school for Intellectual property.

I'm writing this mainly to say thank you all so much for all the help and support so many of you gave me. To those studying, the struggle is so worth it. I actually cried at my own graduation because of the sheer relief and joy I felt. I'm sure many of us on the other side have similar experiences too. :)

Peace out! Study hard and prosper.

Grey day happiness!

I'm very happy to announce that my score was higher than my average and much better than anticipated. I acheived my highest actual score to date! Thank you so much to JY and all the 7Sage community! I have made the decision to retake the test as initally planned (I'm one of those people who generally has to take standardized tests twice) But this is really good news for me along this journey. To all of you who are getting emails back, you got this. You are enough. No matter what, I believe in you!

@ I'll look into that! Thank you. I'm not sure if they do as of yet.

Dear 7 Sagers,

I need to get your opinion on something. Recently I've been looking into Pre Law programs for the summer that are free of tuition for college students and am thinking about applying. However, from what I'm hearing, they aren't that important to getting into a law school and I could just work over the summer in the lab I work at instead. (I'm studying Bio)

Are these programs worth applying to? Theres few of them to begin with as to be expected. I'm taking the LSAT this Feb for the first time and want to make sure I have time to continue studying in the event I need to retake it in September this year.

Let me know what you think and thank you!

@ Thanks! That's the plan. I'm working on prep for February and am probably gonna retake it in September this year.

@ Nah. At one point in high school I gave it a thought but I realized that I really wanted to help researchers patent their work after working in a Virology lab in Taiwan. It's good to want to help save lives but in my opinion, law can too. I mean, pharmecutical companies, genetic technologies that produce medicines, technology that allows for gene editing or even gene therapy all save lives- and need to be patented.

So, I decided to combine Biology and law. :)

My goal is just motivating me through.

Drop in score? Sleep!

Hi guys!

I wanted to share an experience I had and a realization!

I had a really good month and my score was going closer and closer to where I wanted it. (Yay!) Then this week, I noticed I felt stressed, and was getting a score drop. When I sat down to look at my mistakes from both tests, I realized something: I didn't sleep enough both of the nights before the practice test. As a result, I was making some really silly mistakes that I already had learned how to avoid. I know, I know. I totally should have seen this coming. But I think that goes to show my point. So many of us completely forget to take care of ourselves. Especially fellow double majors, perfectionists and part time or full time employees.

I decided to take a hiatus for a full day and do drills this week before doing another test. And honestly, I think my mind is already thanking me.

I know I've been doing alot of self care posts lately but we prospective and entering lawyers honestly need it.

I hope this speaks to you guys and helps any of you who might be worried.

Peace out,

Shireen.

I'm pushing myself to study bio as hard as it is since I do like it, and want to go into Patent law someday.

Bio major life

Hi guys,

So I'm a Biology major at Case Western who has been struggling in some of her more difficult courses. I'm in my third year and my cummulative stands at a 3.125. I know this is a bit low, but I've been studying pretty hard for all my courses, gotten the help I needed and done my best. I'm also studying pretty hard for the LSAT. I know that sometimes hardwork doesn't mean much to a Law school admissions counselor... But I have extra curriculars, a job in a lab, and am taking a Bachelors of Science in Bio along with a secondary major in Spanish at a difficult school.

Is it still possible to go to Law school?

Hi! It sounds like you still managed to make it clear what your answer was for that bubble. Anyone who sees that will make sure that if there's an issue with the scantron to check it. When they do, they will see it. So long as its very clearly marked. I'm sure this has happened to many other people before. :) Dont worry.

Final post before the test. :)

Hi friends,

After reviewing some mistakes from one last practice test and making sure I got my stuff down, I decided that these next two days (Thursday and Friday) will be LSAT hiatus for me. I am a firm believer in resting my mind before standardized tests. Before I log off, I just want to say I wish you all the very best. I know many of us are going in on Saturday with our minds ready for this to be over.

As someone who has been studying for this test for over a year and has put her heart and soul in it, I've come to realize this. People who study for this test are truly brave and ambitious souls. This web platform is fantastic and I'm truly greatful for the advice I've been getting. Thank you to 7sage especially JY and Dillon.

All the very best to all of you. Be kind to yourselves when you go in there tomorrow and know that if you've done everything you can to prepare, you're good to go.

Peace,

Shireen.

My first Barrier break for the LSAT!

I needed to post about this because *sings* "for the first time in forever" I have broken a barrier! I'm now ten points up from my first PT and feel as though I'm making new progress. Thank you to everyone on this forum for being so kind and gracious in your advice. May we all conquer the LSAT!

You've got this. I took it for the first time in February and I got my highest score after months and months of prep during school, while working a part time job. Trust me, you can do this. (3 Breathe, eat well before leaving, make sure you have everything you need, and power through all the sections. Kill it everytime. Once you get to the essay you're in the homestrech and before you know it, you're done!(/p)

Being kind to yourself.

So I'm seeing a lot of disappointment posts lately. Maybe its just the days I sign in or something but my point still stands. For those of you having a tough time, I'm right there with you. I'm a perfectionist and I hate making silly mistakes, or finding that there's something I've missed on a test. Right now I'm trying to break to the 160's and its difficult.

I know the feeling if it detracting from your self worth and I am here to tell you a piece of advice my boss once gave me.

"Be kind to yourself." Whatever you're doing, if you're giving it your best and being honest, you will get to your goal. So please for the love of all that is good, be kind to yourself. I'm pushing myself to do this throughout the process and I really did feel the need to share this with people here.

Peace out,

Shireen.

@ I've just started training this summer seriously for the LSAT (So feel free to take my words with a bit of salt) and honestly the biggest thing that helped me with getting questions correct is to relax. I know its really odd to say, especially since you already know how practice intensive this test is. But one thing I've learned from even just being 2 years into college is that burnout or mind blocks can happen. It's ok. Don't get discouraged. I know what disappointment is like, but as they say, treat yo'self. Take time, and come back to it. With a fresh, well rested mind, you'll be much better. Don't let your mind fall into the trap of worry.

I hope this helps and all the very best.

In addition, the Harvard students were in a sub fb page where they were the ones to post these extremely offensive memes which goes against all advice you're given regarding social media. Thus irresponsiblity and wrecklessness only reaped what they now sow.

Honestly, I'm also applying this semester and I've made the choice to leave my social media up presence up. I have strict privacy settings and have been very careful with what I post. Overall, I think if you are a clean writer, make clean posts, and do the tag request feature for your timeline, so long as your profile pics and posts are not crazy, you should be fine.

Yup! I've had this problem and I did the questions in my BR as practice because under BR circumstances, you have no time constraints and are pretty much redoing what you had trouble with or didn't get to.

@ Thank you so much! :D @ It honestly is. Its amazing to see the progress after such a long time.... Thank you!

This Saturday will be my first time taking the LSAT and so far I've taken more prep tests than I can count over the past months. Although I will probably take it again, I'm one of those people who historically does significantly better when taking the test twice. Thus I'm planning ahead and taking it this Saturday followed by a later try during my last year of college.

Best of luck to everyone and please make sure y'all are winding down and destressing. Take care of yourselves and see you on the other side. (3(/p)
