For those who are looking for the exact part of the passage that supports answer E in question 24:

Lines 34-35 "...illustrates a major attraction of fractal geometry: simple processes can be responsible for incredibly complex patterns."

So, answer choice E is correct: It [Fractal geometry] enables geometers to generate complex forms using simple processes.

Thanks J.Y.!

The few days leading up to the LSAT, I'm planning on just doing some light studying. Individual sections and some review. I'm not going to take a practice test in the 4 days leading up to the test because I'd rather not burn out... would you recommend doing sections that are recent or are older sections okay (29-38)? In the month leading up to the LSAT, I've been using recent practice tests (57-65).

Another question about test logistics:

Are analog --so one that shows the minute and hour hand-- (vs. digital) and non-beeping the only requirements for the watch we can bring into the test? I'm pretty sure that's all I found on LSAC's "Day of the Test" page...

My watch shows the date, similar to this watch (although this watch is NOT the one I have): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AWPR22C?psc=1

And it is quartz-run, which means it has batteries, I believe... is that okay too?

Haha sorry, I'm just really paranoid about the situation as I rely heavily on my watch.

J.Y. --

How much does the writing portion at the end matter? Does anyone really "study" for it? IS there a way to study for it?

Pretty much everyone I know studying for the LSAT kind of just ignores this part... I know it gets sent to law schools and that LSAC doesn't grade it....I've heard that it's not that important since law schools know it's placed at the end of a tough, long test... and that they have a better example of your writing in your personal statement.

Also, is it okay to cross out words on the writing portion or use "carots" to write in phrases?

I posted this in a discussion, but thought I would write it here too. I wasn't sure how to delete the discussion post though..

Haha, hopefully not, Mark. The trends are that the hardest logic games were in the '90s or early 2000s, so hopefully they take it a little easier on us.

Does the link have to be "the less inclined one is to morally judge human behavior, the less likely it is that one holds clear and unambiguous moral beliefs"? Or could you switch the link so it read "the less likely that one holds clear and unambiguous moral beliefs, the less inclined one is to morally judge human behavior"? Would that still be an acceptable answer?

Thanks for the lively videos, J.Y.! Your quick wit makes them pretty enjoyable instead of laborious (e.g."J.K. Rowling vs. that author of that vampire series that is a shame to the written word."). :)

Would that be something that constitutes complaining to LSAC for? I know that delays your score..I'm not sure how that works..maybe J.Y. can weigh in?

Actually our proctors totally messed up too and called time when there were like 3-4 minutes left on that section. We were like THAT WAS NOT FIVE MINUTES. Everyone freaked out, haha. Actually even that slight thing threw me off, especially since I was already running short on time on that section. So that was absolutely ridiculous.

Replacing/substituting a rule questions

For the logic games where the question asks you to replace a rule with another rule to maintain the same effect on the game...

I know that you can't replace it with a new rule that allows for a possibility that the old rules would not allow (wouldn't be the same effect). But, is it also true that you can't have a new rule that is a subset of the old rules? As in, the old rules allow for more possibilities than the new rule. That wouldn't be the same effect either, right? So you would have to find the same set of possibilities?

If that makes any sense..

Can someone explain to me why E is incorrect? I'm not sure I quite got it. It seems similar to B to me.
