How would you all rate the difficulty of this test compared to the aggregate of practice tests you've taken?

So I cant speak with certainty but let me provide you with a parallel. When you send a letter through the post office and the post office sends it on its way to its destination, the post office's job is "complete". Now that doesnt mean your letter has reached its destination, just that the post office did what its supposed to. Harvard is your recipient who also receives lots of other applications and has quite a bit of sorting and processing to do. The delay is probably on their end! Just give it a little time before you give anyone a call.

Also, good luck on winning the bet dare ;)

Yes. Snacks are on the list of allowed items (well a snack is...) as well, you can bring a beverage (unspecified) in a plastic container

I am in a eerily similar situation... Having gone to the LSAC forum and personally asked the school in question about this, it seems that the appropriate step is CERTAINLY write something NEW but also, let them know what you have been up to. What impactful events have occurred since you last applied? Law schools keep your old records on file, so enhance it. No need to replace or reproduce!

What stands out to me is LR because there are 2 of them and its about a (-9 to -10) average. My recommendation would be to make sure you are understanding the complexities of each question type. What makes right answers right and wrong answers wrong? Once you feel you have a strong command of each question type... then DRILL! Drill the hell out of those questions and do isolated LR sections. This has to be polished because it 50% of the test!

Ah... you must be law school bound because your analytical reasoning is on point, haha! First of all, why are you up at 3am? Are you suffering from late night LSAT blues like me?!

I’m in Hawaii :) so technically “in the states” but arguably not in the states. If I had more energy this would be my segway into an argument for the independence of the Kingdom of Hawaii but I’ll have to save that for another night LOL.

... And now it's 5am. Yes-- sadly the LSAT blues have kept me up thinking about my next plan of attack. This experience heightened the stakes as I try to apply before year's-end.

Gosh, 12 hours later and I still want to cry.

I’ve been studying for two years... worked my ass off while working full time to improve significantly in RC and LR, only for all those improvements to be masked by a completely shit LG section. I feel like all my grind was for nothing...

LG, you were supposed to stick with me through it all. It was love at first sight for us— we always had that chemistry. UNTIL TODAY  You were supposed to be my ride or die. But you abandoned me when I needed you most. I feel so betrayed. How could this happen?!

Yes, it’s 9pm and I’m three glasses of wine deep, but I can’t be the only one who feels so heartbroken by this LSAT (/3(/p)

Posted 30 mins ago. It's 9pm? I live in NY and it's 3am which means it's midnight on West coast. OP are you not from the states?

By the way. This is a better logic game than anything we witnessed yesterday. RIP

Dont panic. If Duke is really your top choice, let them know. If you were applying to Duke as a safety, they will probably know because your app may not have been as strong as someone gunning for Duke as their top choice.

Yes probably yield protect. In the hypothetical world where that holds true (and I assert it probably does). Admissions @ Duke probably thinks you will accept at HYS instead.

Everyone has their unique situations/circumstances and I applaud you for analyzing where you wish you apply given your career goals. I think you have great odds of success at many schools as a "reverse splitter".

To answer your first question: You can apply to any school at any time. Now, the problem is schools can see that you are registered for another administration of the LSAT and can choose to hold your application for review until after receiving the results of your latest administration; this is at their sole discretion. Basically... It wouldnt hurt too much to apply early, just know that law schools might hold off on granting a decision.

Personally, in your position, I would hold off to apply all at once (with a Nov. score). The more time you put into the application, the more polished it will be, that includes a potentially better LSAT score, better optional essays, etc. So will you be truly ready to submit your application at the early date you've imposed for yourself?

IMHO: You are in a good spot if you get your app in before the end of the year. Dont be pressured to submit ASAP and sacrifice quality of your application.

If everyone does bad on this logic game section, is LSAC going to curve our scores? I’m confuse.

They could but it would probably only be a point or two. (e.g. -11 or -12 for 170) instead of the typical -10

I had only one LG section. I usually get -4 but I think I only got 10 to 11 questions right this time. The LR sections seem a lot easier and RC was just as expected. You guys think it’s worth canceling?

If you think you only got 10 or 11 right that means you got 12 or 13 wrong. Not a great start because that a -12 to 13 baseline before taking into account potential errors in LR and RC.

Maybe keep if you dont have a score on file. Its generally good to show improvement (and you can blame the new digital testing format in addendum. If you have a score on file and this is potentially much worse, cancel. I dont think its a positive if your score dips... it might raise some red flags.

How’d you know it was real - was that the only LG section you had? > @ said:

Can confirm. The (Cat/Dog), (Flowers) and (7 display circular) LG section was the hardest I have ever taken. I walked out after this section. There is only supposed to be one crazy game per newer LSAT and this one felt like there were 2.5....

Cancelling score and retaking.

Sorry. Admittedly my phrasing could have been better but I was responding to ZCohen who asked if it was the hardest they'd seen. My confirmation was that it was the hardest seen, not that it was the real game.

@ might be able to tell us though because it seems that they got two RC sections.

Seems to be a common issue. We will have a lot more consensus from others, Im sure, when people return from their testing center to talk about this awful LG section.

Does anyone score release date still say "TBD" on LSAC website?

First--Dont stress! Unfortunately, LSAC is allowed to do this and it sucks... calling them is unlikely to yield results but unlikely doesnt mean impossible so might as well give it a shot!

Second, if that doesnt work, think about what an investment this test is for the purposes of law school. Is it worth an extra $100-150 hotel room to make sure you are right next to, or super close to, the test center? If yes, start looking at hotels near your new test centers. Bookmark them and if things dont go your way after your call with LSAC, youll have options! Last thing you want to do is commute and hour on test day. If you have the means, make the investment. Think about the potential ROI a few points can make in terms of score with both opportunity and scholarship.

Best of luck to you!

@ For the U.T. Q&A: I feel like providing information to admissions offers is a delicate balance between "well-rounded" and "too much" whereby, in ones attempt to be as explanatory as possible, a conflict between brevity and addressing only the necessary/important parts of an application is created. In an attempt to be judicious with an applications supporting materials, what is deemed truly important in terms of explanation? (Gap in W.E., Multiple takes/multiple cancels LSAT, Low GPA, diversity statement, why X). To some degree I realize its case-by-case but are there triggers that suggest necessity in these statements? (e.g. 6 month gap in W.E. - Yes definitely explain, 2+ cancellations on LSAT - Yes def explain, etc.)

I would never recommend that you not abide by the rules of the test center but having taken the test multiple times both bring my phone and not, I can attest to the experience of either:

Scenario 1) Not taking the phone: Write down on a piece of paper, that you will later discard, the exact directions you will need to follow: subway lines, street names, distance, etc. It's a lot but it doable. Discard paper upon arrival.

Scenario 2) Take the phone, use for maps THEN TURN IT OFF and put it in a thick jacket pocket so you dont risk it being seen. I've done this and had no issues but you wouldnt want a misconduct b/c it went off during a test. Actually write on a sticky note to turn it off after you get to the test center (I did this... we have enough to worry about as it is)

BONUS:

Scenario 3) If you dont mind fronting $100, get an AirBnB/Hotel right across the street from your test center. Then you can easily memorize the few streets it takes to get to the location.

Had something similar happen. Was out of school for four years so chose a professor meeting the following criteria: (i) got an "A" grade in their class and (ii) had a small class size (increases the likelihood they remember you)

Also it helps to send a professional photo of yourself to help jog their memory. "I've attached a photo of myself, as I know you have probably had many students since I left the school in XXXX"

If there is a conflict, and you cant do both, what would show better for the purposes of an application:

(1) Applying early (Sept/October) with a decent application package, or (2) applying ED a little later (Nov/Dec) once you've had time to visit the school, talk to admissions, beef up essays, etc.
