Hi all,

I'm looking for accountability/study buddies where we can Zoom/Call about 3 times a week to review questions and strategies for drills/practice tests that we take. I'm taking the October LSAT and am aiming for a score in the high 160's. Currently RC is my weakest section.

Here's a discord link if anyone would like to join: https://discord.gg/seKV9rjCmt

Hi all,

Instead of getting a bunch of 1 question type wrong on my PTs, I've been getting 1 of 6-7 question types wrong. For example, I'll get 1 Necessary Assumption, 1 Flaw, 1 Weaken, etc wrong on a PT.

I am really not sure what to drill if I'm just getting this wide variety of question types wrong individually. Does anyone have any tips or has anyone been through this situation that can help plan next steps?

Thanks!

I understood this as:

If CA --> 2Days

Mail - most - (not) 2Days

So it'd be: Mail - most - (not) 2Days --> (not)CA

This used to happen a lot to me, but it's gotten better and what I do now is when I'm between 2 answer choices I focus on the wording of both answers. I compare the strength of language of the answer choice to the stimulus and in general try to find a word or so in the answer choice that makes one more likely to be wrong.

Necessary Assumption Question Tips?

Hi all,

I've been struggling a little more on Necessary Assumption questions. I am doing great on Sufficient Assumption, though!

For N.A., I understand the stimulus but when I go into the answer choices I can't figure out which is the N.A. or which ones to take out. I am usually able to remove 1-2, but am left with 3 that I struggle removing. I even do the negation and am still unable to figure it out from the remaining 3.

Are there any tips that have helped anyone on how to find the N.A.?

Let me know!!

For this argument: Most bars that serve wine also serve fancy cocktails. All bars that serve fancy cocktails play loud music. Therefore, most bars that serve wine play loud music.

Can the conclusion also be some restaurants that service wine play loud music?

Tips or advice would be appreciated!

Hi everyone,

This is my first time taking the LSAT, started my diagnostic in the 140-145 range, haven't taken a practice test yet, but I am planning on doing that in the next 1-2 weeks. I am preparing for the November LSAT, but based on questions that I have been drilling, it has been fluctuating for me getting 5/6 right on some days and 4/6 on others (Ex. for Strengthen Medium sometimes I get 6/6 and other days 4/6).

What is a tip/trick that has been helping you out or that "A-hah" moment ?

How long did it take you guys to fully master a question type like Strengthen and/or assumption, only getting 2-3 or less wrong?

I officially started studying end of May, how soon have people started seeing results? I am aiming for a high 160 before November. Is this attainable studying a few hours everyday? Let me know your guys' experiences or takes on this:)

In the same boat! I feel like my score hasn't gone up and has only come down in the last month. Got a 158 and now am getting 156 on the last 3 PT's I took. I'm starting to do only 1 PT a week at least for this week and focusing more on drilling/patterns in the question types and answers.

Took this PT recently, so we're trying to resolve: how is it possible that these wolves were introduced to reduce the moose herd and prevent destruction of the vegetation, but the moose herd continued to grow? So C is the correct answer to this paradox since if the wolves are only killing those moose that are weakened by disease, and this disease can be spread to other moose, it shows that because the wolves are only eating the disease-inflicted moose there is an increase in the herd. If the disease were able to spread to the other moose, then chances are the herd would have decreased. However, it is not able to spread to the other moose because, well, the wolves only eat the ones with the disease. They can still prey on wolves that are healthy too, but in my opinion, that is an assumption that would not be relevant in helping resolve this paradox, since the answer choice has to give an answer of how the population of moose is still growing which is because the wolves are preying on the moose which are disease inflicted, which could spread to other moose, but is not because they're being eaten; thus, the population is increasing.

Hope this helps a bit!

Hi all,

I recently took a PT and saw that I mostly only missed Level 4 and Level 5 questions, but I'm a little confused on how to study because there is a Level 4 or 5 question from different question types that I missed. For example, I missed a Level 5 from method of reasoning, evaluate, agree, flaw, parallel flaw, and weaken. It's not a couple specific question type that I can drill and understand.

Any tips on how to go about working on/drilling these questions? Are there any strategies you guys were able to use to not get the L4 and 5 wrong later?

Anything helps!!

@ Don't be discouraged! I'm in the same boat, have been getting 158 and even 156 a couple times. But I think what has started helping me now is drills of wrong question types. I used to do wrong answer journals and all that, but honestly that didn't help me much. Instead, I started noting which types of questions I am getting wrong on practice tests then started drilling them. For example, if Necessary Assumption, Weaken, and Strengthen are what I missed the most on my PTs, then I'd drill NA and Weaken 1 day from level 2-5 then the next day I'd drill Strengthen from level 2-5. And I wouldn't switch levels until I was getting my 3 question drills all correct 1-2 times. This helped me see patterns and the specific things I was struggling with. Hope this helps!

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has gotten an accommodation letter for major anxiety (testing anxiety, panic disorder, etc.) and how your process went in getting the letter and LSAC accepting it? Was LSAC easy going with it or did you have to appeal at all/provide additional info? I've heard from some people that they prefer certain healthcare professionals to others.. not sure

@ Thank you!! Took a couple days off and I actually am seeing it much better now!! I definitely started overthinking every answer choice and came to a point where I thought 3 answer choices could be right, not anymore though:) Thanks for the tip!

Hi all,

I am looking for people who would like to meet up 2-3 times a week to study and review. I am currently aiming for the June LSAT and looking to jump from the 150's to 170 by June. I am Pacific Time and can meet any time in the afternoon/evening. Let me know and we can set up a discord or something.

I'm taking the November LSAT and NA and Flaw have been really giving me a hard time, especially NA. I was really good at them like a month ago but for some reason I am unable to pick the correct answer now. I've tried the Must be True trick, but end up taking out the correct answer and start negating the 2 wrong answers - which evidently don't get my anywhere. I also read the Ellen Cassidy loophole. Any tips/tricks to help? Or videos you guys recommend?

I'm in the same boat! What I've been doing is really acting like I'm interested in the passage and in my mind saying "wow" and "omg why'd they do this" etc and am making it seem more interesting. This has definitely helped me stay more engaged. I have also been making low-res summaries. Going to start doing drills to get faster though.

So I am still comprehending this, but I see that A is correct because when the author says something is "mistaken", they are essentially saying, "While the text states if A, then B, that is wrong and it is if A, then not B". So what must be true/assumed is (A) that indeed, "if A, then not B" because if we negate it then that would wreck the author's conclusion of it being mistaken because it won't be then.

I created this discord for October test takers, but September ones can also join or anyone else! I'm studying about 6-7 hours a day and am looking for a group that can keep each other accountable and call/zoom a few times a week. Goal score is 170, or at least high 160's.

Hi all,

There's a lot of study groups out there for people in different parts of the U.S. and beyond that that are studying for the November LSAT.

Does anyone want to join me in creating a Pacific Time study group? Maybe people that can already meet at similar times so we're not spending too much time figuring out dates/times and can just get to material?

I am available almost all Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays between 2pm and 7pm Pacific Time. Let me know if anyone is available during those times and we can make a study group via GroupMe! We can start next week!

Let me know!

I know the November LSAT is coming soon, but I definitely recommend taking 1-2 days off and honestly, reduce studying slightly then taking a Practice Test maybe on Monday or Tuesday. I used to do 8 hours of studying 7 days a week and saw a spike in my score and then I continued that and my score just kept going down and never went up.

I took a break and reduced my hours of studying because honestly, I am only getting good studying in from hour 1 to hour 5, after that I'm just forcing myself to study and am not understanding things properly. I reduced my time and that has helped a lot!!

Hello, might be repeating what a lot of people have already said, but spending time on the passages has helped me a lot! I spend about 4.5 minutes on the passages understanding and making sure in my mind I'm connecting all the sentences and saying "Okay, so first this happened then this, and now we're talking about this, etc".

When I do this then I'm able to fly through a lot of the questions! Also, make sure in the answer choices NOT to make assumptions or think "this was kind of said in the passage, maybe it's right", DONT do that! All the answer choices will come from the passage, not from your assumptions. If between 2 answer choices sometimes I use the search feature for key words and if that doesn't work then I compare the 2 answer choices and look closely at wording.

Hope this helps a bit!
