Can you believe we're already in week 4 of our BR's of Summer?

Please note, we will NOT be having a call on Saturday, July 4th because America.

Wednesday, July 1st at 8pm EST: PT51

Our basins of attraction were thoroughly riddled on Saturday, so let's move right along.

Friday, July 3rd at 8pm EST: PT69

For those of us who want to be able to retake and/or drill from tests up to PT71, we will have Friday sessions to BR those later tests. This is likely to be a smaller group but open to anyone.

Note on the Friday group: If you want to join, let me know on Skype (nikkers625) and I will add you to this one—all are welcome, some are willing. Most are trying to make valid inferences and/or diagramming these sentences in their heads right now. #so-meta

NO GROUP on July 4th

Here's what I'll be doing on LSATurday evening:

Note on all groups

  • For the newbies: Add me on Skype, using handle nikkers625 .
  • For the regulars: If for some reason you're not in the group conversation already, just message me on Skype.
  • For everyone: take the PT under timed conditions; BR as you are able; join us for all or part of the call—everyone is welcome.
  • Note: For the purposes of the call, we like to check our group blind review score together at the very end of the call :) So at least don't say ... "No guys, really, it's D, I checked it."
  • These groups work best when folks from ALL stages of prep and with all different goals join in! Not just for "super-preppers" and definitely not just for the casual LSATer (does such a person exist?).
  • The only expectation anyone has for these calls is for you to have fun and ask questions as you desire. We are just a bunch of LSAT lovers who gather via Skype and intellectually slaughter each test.

    Howdy, folks—

It's week 3 and it's hot in Texas. Let's blast these PT's with some AC (Aggressive Collaboration ... though air conditioning will also be on!).

    Wednesday, June 24th at 8pm EST: PT49

It's our last PT in the 40's and contains that infamous Maize RC passage. Let's make those kernels pop.

    Friday, June 26th at 8pm EST: PT68

For those of us who want to be able to retake and/or drill from tests up to PT71, we will have Friday sessions to BR those later tests. This is likely to be a smaller group but open to anyone.

Note on the Friday group: If you want to join, let me know on Skype (nikkers625) and I will add you to this one—all are welcome, some are willing. Most are trying to make valid inferences and/or diagramming these sentences in their heads right now. #so-meta

    LSATurday, June 27th at 8pm EST: PT50

Finally made our way to the 50's.

    Note on all groups

  • For the newbies: PM me with your Skype handle. You can also add me on Skype, using handle nikkers625 .
  • For the regulars: Please let me know if you plan to join tonight's session and have not yet been added to the conversation.
  • For everyone: take the PT under timed conditions; BR as you are able; join us for all or part of the call—everyone is welcome.
  • Note: For the purposes of the call, we like to check our group blind review score together at the very end of the call :) So please do not check your answers beforehand :-) Or at least don't say ... "No guys, really, it's D, I checked it."

    Dear friends,

It's already week 2. Do you know where your PT BR Group is?

    Wednesday, June 17th at 8pm EST: PT47

PT47 will whimper audibly when we're done with it.

    Friday, June 19th at 8pm EST: PT67

For those of us who want to be able to retake and/or drill from tests up to PT71, we will have Friday sessions to BR those later tests. This is likely to be a smaller group but open to anyone.

Note on the Friday group: Please PM me and specifically ask to be added to this one; as it's a smaller group, I won't call everyone from the bigger groups unless you specifically let me know you're up for some crazy PT66+ action. And yes you can translate that last sentence into Lawgic for fun and flair.

    LSATurday, June 20th at 8pm EST: PT48

PT48 will bend to our will, per usual.

    Note on all groups

  • For the newbies: PM me with your Skype handle. You can also add me on Skype, using handle nikkers625 .
  • For the regulars: Please let me know if you plan to join tonight's session and have not yet been added to the conversation.

  • Wednesday, June 10th at 8pm EST: PT45

We'll start this BR cycle off right, hitting the ground running with PT45.

(s)I won't be on this call, but many others will.(/s) Just kidding, I will be there after all.

    Friday, June 12th at 8pm EST: PT66

For those of us who want to be able to retake and/or drill from tests up to PT71, we will have Friday sessions to BR those later tests. This is likely to be a smaller group but open to anyone.

Note on the Friday group: Please PM me and specifically ask to be added to this one; as it's a smaller group, I won't call everyone from the bigger groups unless you specifically let me know you're up for some crazy PT66+ action.

    LSATurday, June 13th at 8pm EST: PT46

Rollin' rollin' rollin'...we'll affectionately beat the snot out of PT46 on Saturday night.

Ok, folks. Let's discuss options for BR groups heading towards October.

(s)We have two matters to consider:(/s) Consideration done! Here's what we're doing:

  • PT45 Tonight at 8pm EST (PM me to join, per the usual)
  • PT46 on LSATurday, 8pm EST
  • Friday Special! PT66 8pm EST. We'll be doing PT66 through PT71 over the next several Fridays; please specify if you want to do this special session—some of us want the opportunity to take these later tests twice before the October test date.
  • Next week, Wednesday will be PT47, Friday PT67, and Saturday PT48, and so on, and so forth, until we ride into the Oct 3rd tests on chariots of fire.

We do have a special request to switch the Wednesday session to a Tuesday session. For this week, obviously we will be meeting tonight, but I will raise the question on the call to see if everyone is ok with this change. I'll keep y'all posted with any changes.

    _______

    (Archive of original post follows)

    1) Which tests to BR

My top priority is to get all the way through PT75 (June '15). I'm sure this is your priority, too. We have 34 sessions between now and September 30th if we meet twice weekly (with PT65 happening this Saturday), which should be the last group call for the Oct 3rd test.

That means we have to make a choice between:

    1) Starting with PT36, making it to PT51 on August 1st, and then skipping ahead to PT59 on August 5th. That would mean we would skip tests that the group has already BR'ed (but I recognize that new people might not want to skip these tests).

    2) Starting with PT45 and going all the way through to PT75. This is better for those who favor exposure to the newer tests over exposure to older tests. On the whole, this one would be my recommendation, but I want to see if others have a preference.

My question to you: Which course do we follow?

    2) When to do the groups

I propose the following. Please either respond to this thread or PM me if you have strong objections.

—Every Saturday at 8pm EST (note the time change). Our sessions have been averaging around 3 hours (shorter than previous sessions) and I do not think 11pm is too late for most of the East Coasters to wrap up the call.

—Every Wednesday at 8pm EST (if we have a lot of West Coasters who work full time, we can perhaps find some wiggle room depending on how long your commutes are. I hesitate to set it any later as that would push the East Coasters near midnight by the time we finish)

My question to you: Do these days work for you?

To all who have participated or reached out to me about participating: Please make your lovely voices heard!

    Hi y'all,

Quick note while I'm traveling: unless there are ardent objections, let's do the Saturday blind review group at 8pm EST this week. Many of the regulars will be absent and I know we have some new people—would the 8pm EST time work for everyone for this upcoming Saturday?

PM me with your Skype handle if you want to join. Don't be alarmed if I don't respond right away—it will likely be Saturday afternoon before I'm able to get back to everyone due to a hectic travel schedule (3 states in 4 days then back to Texas Friday night).

    PT58. Be there/be square.

LSAT love from Lancaster County, PA.

If you're interested in joining please PM me or @nicole.hopkins your Skype name so we can add you to the call :)

It runs pretty smooth. All you have to do is take PT 56 and BR before the Group BR (do not check answers). During the Skype call we go through all four sections and we also go more in depth if there is not consensus or if anyone wants to for any reason.

Please note that as of July 6th, I am not updating this thread as much. There are far too many BR groups for me to keep track of. The newest BR groups will be at the top of the "Study Groups" category, here:

    http://classic.7sage.com/forums/categories/study-groups

Please PM the author of each thread to be invited to the BR group! (Note: I am not the author!)

    BR Calendar: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wNxrEU0-YfiID5upvTUlAOo8J-MvXfM2K7mvUkcD1xc/

BR groups always active through Skype! Add nikkers625 on Skype, or PM Nicole! ( @nicole.hopkins )

Q: What happens during these BR groups?

@nicole.hopkins We go through every question in the test, in order. Where LR questions benefit from diagramming, we use a white board app (links provided during the call); we also diagram all of the LG using the same app (several people diagram since some of us use slightly different methods).

Everyone takes the PT for that week under timed/exam simulating conditions. Then, those who are able BR the whole test on their own (I am often not able to BR the whole thing on my own and it's literally never been a problem). We meet on Skype at the appointed day/time (usually 3.5 hours, give or take) and go through the whole test. It's fun and hardcore.

For a lot of us, the PT's we do are retakes but everyone benefits, no matter if it's a fresh test for you or not. Feel free to listen in sometime to see what it's like (PM me with your Skype handle).

Hello is anyone looking for a study buddy in the Los Angeles area? To share notes or go over any questions? Let me know. I am free most weekdays in the morning or afternoon since I am taking time off of work to focus on studying.

    Let me know! Thanks!

    Hi everyone,

I felt I benefited from the last group Skype BR, and would like to do this more. Saturdays don't always work for me, though. Would anyone be interested in BRing a PT over Skype on another day, during the week? I'm flexible as to which PT, since there are lot I haven't seen and am also fine with retaking. Let me know!

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a few people who want to form an LSAT study group. We can do practice tests together, help each other with any questions, discuss different techniques and methods for each section and keep each other accountable! Let me know if you are interested in joining

    Hello everyone!

My name is Ken. My friends and I host an LSAT study meeting at Gangnam every Sunday. We do not charge to attend this meeting but ask that each participant only pays for his or her usage of the meeting room at the study cafe. If anyone else wants to join, please read the conditions below and send me a message to my inbox! (:

  • This LSAT study meeting takes place from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm every Sunday at the Gangnam station Exit 9 Wing Study Cafe.
  • The language of the study meeting is English and English only. Any constituent speaking Korean will be asked to speak in English. We will accept a mixture of English and Korean (Konglish).
  • We do not make a profit hosting this LSAT study meeting other than asking each constituent to pay for his or her usage of the meeting room at the study cafe. The fee for using this meeting room is 6,000 KRW per person (1,900 KRW per hour for each person x 3 hours = 5,700 KRW rounded up to 6,000 KRW). This fee must be paid for in advance as soon as the constituent confirms in writing that he or she will attend the upcoming study meeting. The cause for paying the fee in advance as soon as possible is because we have to reserve the meeting room at the study cafe according to the number of constituents attending the meeting.
  • The refund will be issued only if the cancellation is made 48 hours prior to the start time of the study meeting. For example, a constituent has to cancel at latest by 2:00 pm on Friday to receive the refund.
  • The method of payment is KakaoPay and KakaoPay only. The method of refund is KakaoPay and KakaoPay only.
  • Any constituent using profanity or exhibiting an aggressive behavior will be permanently removed from the study meeting.
  • Thanks!
