During Blind Review are we allowed to look at our notes/ other materials to help us with questions or should we not look at any external resources?

My BR score has remained in the mid 160s with 166 being the highest, 164 being the lowest over the past 4 PTs. There is no question type that I am particularly struggling with, most of my wrong answers I just did not fully understand what I was reading. As for my timed scores my first PT was a 148 and it gradually has gone up each test with the highest and most recent one a 160. What do other people recommend I do? My goal for BR is to get it around 172-175 and my timed to be high 160s latest by January, hopefully by November or October. Should I just take practice tests over and over until it goes up? Is there any specific strategy I am missing? Side note: If anyone is in my same position and has the same goals would you like to get in touch and chat / study occasionally in discord? I am enrolled in school so I am taking 1 PT a week atm and drilling other days.

Is there any way we can reset the drill questions we have completed in the past but still save our completed prep tests? I want to redo questions ive done a long time ago since I dont have too many fresh prep tests left but the only way I can do this is if I reset my completed prep tests too and I dont want to do that. If this isnt possible, can an option be implemented to allow for this.

I had drafted my essays for Yale in 11pt font prior to reading that they require 12pt. Anyone have a perspective on how much wiggle room their "approximately" language provides? Feel free to comment or just respond to the poll below.

Example directions are: "The optional essay should be approximately one double-spaced page, formatted in a professional 12-point font,"

Been finding Net Effect Questions to be a challenge. Anyone have tips on how to identify these questions. and then how they approach them. Cost-Benefit Net Effect questions are pretty straight forward its the more nuanced net effect question types that give me more of a challenge at the moment

Hi all!

I am currently scoring in the high 150s - low 160s with a pretty solid understanding of the curriculum.

What I find really helpful in learning is by teaching others. This forces me to verbalize my thought process and consider questions that I may not have thought of. With that said, I would like to offer my explanations/insights to anyone that have specific questions or just want a new set of eyes in general.

If you are interested, please message me 1 or 2 specific questions you need help on. We can then try to arrange some time to jump on Discord where I will attempt to explain it to you and you are free to ask any questions.

Note - this is by no means any form of tutoring, but I think we can both benefit from it. If there's anything I can't answer, we can try to figure it out together.

Hi everyone! I have a discord LSAT study group with 25 members and it's a very new group with mainly Loophole students. But we're starting to drill more via 7Sage and have scheduled a few group drilling sessions this week. We'd love to welcome anyone who would like to join our Wrong Answer Review session tomorrow and a 10 Questions or Die session on Saturday!

The Discord invite is https://discord.gg/EsVqSsRU. Or you can just add my Discord user (cutiminti). Hope to see some of you there :)

RC

Any advice besides reading more to improve in the reading comprehension section ? Structure, timing or types of questions?

So far I have been doing Bottom line but I have not seen much improvement.

Hi all,

I started studying for the LSAT about eight months ago, and I started seriously studying/taking PTs in the last four months or so. I have consistently faced the issue of not being confident enough whenever I am on timed sessions. I see myself changing my answers from correct to wrong answers on LR. I am current in the low 160s 161-164 range, and every time I BR, all the correct answers are so obvious. My BR is in the 170s. But whenever, it is under time, either I don't see the correct answers or I just get so fixated on the wrong answer. I also have had problems with except questions. I would think to myself that it is an except question, and then by the time I get to the last answer choice I just forget that I was dealing with the except question. Any advice on mechanisms/strategies on how to improve confidence/preventing careless answers? I have been trying to do some strategies like, pointing at ACs as I read through. My RC could also be better, like around -4. -5 right now. I get to -2 or 0 when I BR for RC. For RC, my main issue is with rushing the last paragraph when I get freaked out.

I was hoping to take the October LSAT, but it seems like I might have to withdraw and shoot for November. Any advice for whether or not I should sit for October? This is mainly also because I have taken it twice already and once canceled/ one in the 160s. Thank you.

Hello, I have been reluctant in requesting my transcript from National Clearing House. When I input the mail address directly from the LSAC website it tells me the address cannot be found.

Has anyone used the email option from National Clearing House and was it accepted? I'm hesitant about the email option since it says it will send my transcript as a link... If you have please include what email you listed it being sent to!

Thank you!

Just wanted to share my experience in case it may be helpful to anyone, as I know I found some of these posts comforting while going through the test process.

My original diagnostic score from November of 2023 with no prep was a 161. I then began prepping casually on Khan Academy and scored PTs of 163, 162, and 162. Once I decided to commit to the LSAT I began a different test prep program other than 7Sage and registered for the June 2024 exam. Within this program I had these PT scores 162, 160, 164, 158, 161, 165, 164, 165. On the June LSAT I scored a 162 and was extremely disappointed because I had made nearly no progress from my diagnostic. Luckily I was able to get my money back from that other prep program and my friend recommended 7sage.

After starting individual tutoring with 7sage I immediately started feeling better and more confident and planned to take the September LSAT. My PT scores were as follows: 164 (174 BR), 167 (169 BR), 168 (169 BR), 169 (170 BR), 169 (176 BR), 167 (BR 168). Then, my last PT before the LSAT did not go to plan due to testing environment conditions and I got a 163. Obviously this shook my confidence a little bit but after talking with my tutor I was able to relax a little bit. I ended up getting a 171 on the September LSAT, and while I am confident if I continued to study I could improve even more, I am feeling pretty good about executing on test day and earning my pb for a timed score.

I felt so defeated after the June test, and even before checking my results from September I was so anxious that I would not improve my score. All this to say I highly recommend the individual tutoring program and always go into test day confident and knowing that you could get your best score yet on the official test.

Hey everyone,

Would love any advice about how to strategically approach this application cycle. It's my first time so I'm a bit nervous. The goal is to get into a T14 to study technology law. I work full-time and am willing to wait until next cycle if a top school isn't in the cards for me.

My numbers:

  • 3.84 LSAC GPA from a top 40 undergrad with a STEM degree in cognitive science.
  • I took the LSAT for the first time in September and received a 169. PTs ranged 169-173.
  • I know admissions is mostly interested in the numbers, and I'm in between 25th and 50th percentile in both categories for the T14. My absolute dream would be to attend Northwestern (also applying to Georgetown, Duke, UVA, and Penn, still deciding on the rest). My question is - would it be better to apply Northwestern Early Decision with what I have now or retake the LSAT in November? Do I have even a slight shot?

    For more context, soft factors:

  • First-generation American and first-generation law student
  • 3 years full-time work experience (post-grad) in the digital advertising space. Completed 4 relevant internships during undergrad and am now in a Manager position. Resume includes several prestigious healthcare/pharma companies
  • Earned a data privacy law certification from IAPP (organization for privacy lawyers) by passing their exam, which is apparently a gold standard in that specialty and is mostly awarded only to practicing lawyers. AI Governance certification from the same organization is pending.
  • 3 letters of recommendation, two from professors (one of which was a research supervisor), one from a former manager
  • Two semesters each of undergraduate research and TA experience, helped to develop curriculum for a course
  • Leadership positions in several student organizations
  • Personal Statement about how I entered the digital marketing world after majoring in neuroscience and how data privacy concerns have led me to pursue law school
  • Diversity Statement about my identity as a Russian-speaking American (family from Ukraine) and being impacted by the situation in that region, how being first-gen motivated me to pursue law and why I believe it's an asset
  • Personalized Why X for nearly every school I'm applying to
  • Thank you all so much for even reading this :') appreciate your help!

Hi there. I've been hearing conflicting things about this topic. From what I've heard, as long as you don't completely mess up, there;s a very good chance of getting into a Biglaw firm upon graduation at a T14 schools. I've heard, too, that it is likely to get into a Biglaw position at any T50 school, though the drawbacks sometimes is that you are limited in a regional sense. For example, Boston College sent many many students to Biglaw firms, but mainly in the Boston area. Thoughts on this? Trying to decide, as someone who wants to get into Biglaw after law school, whether I should even consider applying to schools outside the T14 or not. I've just heard conflicting things.

For anyone still looking for a server, and are ok with a big one, here is mine : https://discord.gg/AWekDrtwHc. I’ve been notified of a few that seem to have carbon-copied our design, but the thing they can’t poach, is community, and we would love to have you be part of our LSAT family. The server has dedicated post-lsat channels, some of them are: personal statement review, professional tutor help/and law school admissions, special lsat experts visit before each LSAT. Where ever you have them else where, we had them first, and we have them better. You are all welcome, and @KevinLin7Sage you are super welcome, we’d be honored to have you grace us with your presence. Please feel free to pass on the link to anyone else, unless you are one of 3 I have banned. We look forward to getting to know you!

I am currently working on writing my personal statement and I am not a great writer, at all!! I have heard many ways to go about topics to discuss, what to include, and what not to include.

Can someone offer any help or advice?!? Possible proofreading and provide unbiased feedback?

I skip around passages from easiest to hardest. typically, at the 3rd passage I start comprehending the passage less than if I were doing this passage isolated to the rest in the form of a drill . I assume the issue is because I have trouble shifting focus from passage to passage. As a result, I find myself not being able to complete 4-6 questions because I try to keep understand the passage after the initial read to reference those questions. Does anyone have any advice to overcome this> Thanks.
