Quick Tip: Save Global Questions for Last!

One of the biggest time crunches we face in the LSAT is the Logic Games section. If we jump into the questions without a good understanding of the game, we are likely to spend a lot of our valuable time brute forcing incorrect answer choices. To avoid this scenario, try out saving your global questions for last. Prioritizing beginning with the “if” questions within a Logic Game will help you build up a history of past boards that take away the need for us to do so much work on those global questions.

Optimize Your Foolproofing

Foolproofing is an excellent way to maximize your score in Logic Games. Foolproofing is the method where you take a set of games and repeat those games until you have effectively memorized their inferences. This is how we maximize our limited time on the Logic Games section. There are many ways to implement the Foolproofing method that are effective, but we can easily be led astray in our Foolproofing process. If you find yourself committing time to Logic Games but don’t see improvement, you may need to revisit the method you are using to Foolproof.

This lack of progress can happen when students focus on doing new games over perfecting familiar ones. The reason we Foolproof is not to simply grind more sections. We Foolproof so we can meticulously memorize familiar Logic Games to the point where their inferences are second nature to us. Many students will stop their repetition of a game when they get all the questions right. Remember we are not using this method simply to get the questions right—but also to get those right answers as fast as possible.

The best Foolproof methods will include some sort of notebook or spreadsheet where the students keep meticulous track of their process. Regularly recording the games you do and the number of repetitions is the best way to identify those games that we could still get a little faster completing. In doing so, our Foolproof method gives us a wealth of information from which we can draw trends and patterns about the questions that give us trouble.

Overall, there are many different ways to Foolproof that will give us the best board setups possible. You can focus on tackling new games by type or on honing in the games you have seen before. To see how 7Sage tackles Logic Games, check out the webinar linked below!
