Free September retake?

I don't understand how the July 15 takers are supposed to get a free retake in September if the cancel options is not available yet and we cant see our scores until the 28th of August to see if we want to keep or cancel? Am I missing something? Can anyone please clarify?

Unfortunately I called LSAC and they let me know the free retake is only available for tests after the September one (October on) which is sorta disappointing for those applying to law schools in the fall. I ended up registering for it again in September anyways, just sad I won't get the opportunity to use the free retake unless I send in applications without my updated LSAT score.
