It depends on the school so carefully read the conditions of the seat deposit. Some require that you withdraw all other applications. If there is no agreement that you must withdraw (or anything equal), then you only lose out on the money.
... one school is free to deposit at another school. Schools can ... have their own deposit policies, so you should pay ... attention to their deposit instructions. However, in most ... not expect to receive the deposit back, though. Good luck ...
I have heard of people putting down the first deposit while they wait to hear from other schools. Not necessarily ethical to some people, but useful when you are stuck in a tough position.
... scholarship has been accepted, a deposit has been paid, or a ... sense to put down a deposit with your current best option ... receive final decisions AFTER a deposit deadline. Good luck!
It doesn't hurt to ask, but for many people, depositing knowing that you may lose the deposit if another school comes through is just part of the process.
Your acceptance/deposit is not a binding commitment to attend. You are free to pull out but just typically lose the deposit. Usually recommended you don't hold out banking on a WL pull.
Read the fine script comment because it depends on the school. Most of them allow you to do this but some stipulate that if you deposit with them they consider that to be binding.
