This has been asked before but for the sake of it I am asking it again. Is the statement "V happens if and only if Y happens" represented as YV (/V/Y). Thank you for the clarification
Can anyone talk about a logical equivalency to this phrase? Not "IF", but is it equivalent to "only if"? Or how should I interpret this phrase in LR questions - I've come across it a few times in the late 60s tests.
When a problem says: Grace helps move the sofa ifbut only if Heather helps move the recliner, do I diagram it as: GsHr or HrGs, or does it matter either way? Also are "ifBUT only if" and "if AND only if" diagrammed differently or the same?

Double slash is part of ifbut only ifif I remember correctly. A B is equivalent to /A /B.

I thought "but" meant anything before is context and anything after is an argument. So, if "but these people are mistaken." is the conclusion where is the premises?
