I just got my September score back and I am hoping to increase my score by 10 points by the November LSAT. Does anyone have any advice on how to study short term?

166 in December, not even remotely close. That's like an 8-10 percentile jump in score from 162. 166 gives you a reasonable shot at the bottom half of the top 14; good luck even getting a sniff there with a 162.

Please don't bank on transferring. Go to a law school where you would be comfortable graduating from. You have to be at least in the top 5-10% to have a good shot at transferring to a better school.
