Jumping on the GRE wagon to increase rankings and whatnot is perfectly understandable (my stance on using GRE for law school admissions notwithstanding). To reverse the decision in the middle of the cycle (without a public announcement, no less) on the basis of insufficient research is an entirely different matter.
If the GRE is simply being used by GW to improve yield by attracting applications and then turning almost everyone down this may work even better in the short run.
I understand why they would reverse the decision but to do it mid cycle is unacceptable. Those 10 students should be grandfathered
