Do i need to include an addenda as to why I received GED and not diploma?? I dropped out in 9th grade and started college when i was 16....or is it better to just discuss in admission essay

I don't recall a school asking me why I have a GED instead of a diploma. I mentioned this in my PS: dropping out of HS, not having much direction, getting jobs where I witnessed coworkers having negative interactions with the justice system and that was a galvanizing factor as to why I applied to community college and eventually a university and now law school. The schools I applied to are mainly lower T14/T20 + Emory and Georgia. so from my experience I don't think this fact requires an addenda unless specifically asked for. I did take a break between community college and my university to work and save money to minimize debt. Schools have almost always asked about this: explain any gaps in schooling.
