Thank you 7Sage!

Got a 161 last August, then a 163 Last October, to then check my score for August 2026......

178 BABY!

Crazy feeling.

7Sage really has some amazing resources and strategies on here! All of the prep course/materials I used were from here.

To anybody who still has to take it, you got this!

    Hi Simon, congratulations.

    We have very similar stats on 7Sage, but when I go into the exam (this past June) and August, LR has felt like it is much harder and requires much more nuance to get answers correct than in any of the PT150s. Do you share the same feeling? Or do you think LR is the same? For example, I found August had a lot of "Agree/Disagree" questions that were incredibly challenging, if you remember what I am referring to.

    @antitrust_fan Hi! Honestly, I don’t remember thinking the LR felt much harder than my PTs. However, I feel that agree/disagree questions are one of my strongest question types, so that could be a factor. There were a couple conditional questions that I felt stumped me for longer than usual.

    @SimonArmendariz Congrats!!! Amazing! Do you have any tips on studying and how you studied in leading up to the exam? Were you doing drills and sections? How did you see so much improvement? How did you target your weaknesses? Thanks in advance!! Hoping to get a score like this one day!

    @juooper Thanks!

    Week of the exam, I was scared of burning out. My weakness has always been RC over LR. So I read 4-5 News Articles each day in that last week, just to make any last improvements in my reading comprehension before test day. I believe I took a full PT in the week before, but I made sure not to overdo it. Previously I was taking a PT around twice a week in the 2 weeks before that (even redoing old PTs). The most important thing for me personally in that week before the test was just doing what I could to relieve stress before/during the test, as the last two times I took it I would get really anxious during the test, and it made it hard to focus. I had September scheduled, which helped reduce the pressure I put on my August exam. I also just did some standard breathing exercises before the test, during the test, and during my break. I also brought earplugs this time! Don't get me wrong, I was super anxious, but I felt better this time than last time.

    A week prior to the test, you likely have 95% of the same knowledge and skills you're going to have on test day. You just want to make sure when you get to that center you're in the best mindset to be able to prove it! Stay engaged with the texts, try to be confident in the studying you've done, relax and have fun with it! I left my administration thinking I aced the LR sections, but got so many wrong on the RC where it would be the equivalent of a 171 (still a great score). So also reassure yourself that vibes after the fact don't really map onto how well you're going to do.
