Do the law school essays change from year to year usually? I am not applying this cycle but trying to plan when to leave my job. Will I not be able to start writing my supplemental essays until September most likely? Or will this year likely serve as a good base?

Some people state that you should go to admission events to get yourself know to the admissions office. What do I talk about/ do to stand out?

I took my first LSAT last September, got a decent score for me, and applied to several schools. I got some nice scholarship offers, but I ultimately decided to hold off due to financial concerns. I'm retaking the LSAT this November and planning to take another shot at applying this December (some of the same schools as last year, some new ones). I've heard a lot of people recommend at least updating the old PS. However, I'm considering a topic that is totally different from last year's.

In my first PS, I wrote about the area of law I wanted to go into and my passion for that industry. Since then, I've been pondering a childhood hardship that I genuinely think has shaped me as a person and could make a pretty compelling story that directly ties into my desire to go into law.

But would it be a bad idea to apply to the same schools as last year with this completely different PS? I made no mention of the hardship in my first PS, and it's not like this was an experience that happened since my applications last year. I'm not quite sure why I didn't write about it in the first place. It's possible I didn't fully see how it would make sense as a personal statement, or it just felt strange to write about.

Hello, I have a recommender writing me a letter about me serving in the church and some other things, I only wanted to send this letter to Liberty University and Regent University as they are both faith based law schools, For my letter description should I put the two schools name or say "use for faith based law schools" I really want to make sure both law schools see that letter. hi all! I just got back my score from the September LSAT and my score went down from my previous test by 4 points.. should I submit an addendum for this? I’m reading mixed suggestions online..

For background context I applied last cycle in February (late I know, but I was wanting to get a decent score and wanted to be in school by this current fall) and was waitlisted pretty much everywhere I applied. I decided to r&r mid-july which left me with little review time before the September test date, which I wanted to take so that I could submit my applications like early since I’m planning on applying to the same schools I was waitlisted at. In retrospect I should've signed up for the October test and planned to submit by November rather than October.

Will this hurt my chances of getting accepted at my previously waitlisted schools? Should I explain this in an addendum or no..? Any suggestions help

I have a few questions re: Character and Fitness section.

Every school asks if you have ever been disciplined for academic or non-academic reasons. Do university parking citations count as being disciplined by the school? Does anyone care? This was 7+ years ago.

Along a similar vein... If schools want to know about speeding tickets, should I disclose written warnings? Also, should I disclose when I was pulled over but not issued anything?

I'm clearly down the rabbit hole here lol.

I submitted my application to William & Mary today, however, I just realized that I made a small mistake in my "Why William & Mary Law" essay. I referred to Williamsburg as being a "highly-populated" and "thriving" city, even though it only has about 15,000 people... I went there for undergrad and somehow misremembered it as having more people than it really does. Anyway, it's a small yet noticeable mistake. Should I resend my essay?

I am aware of sites such as Rate My Professor and Above the Law, but does anyone have any other websites to look at? I assume Reddit is a popular option as well.

How vital is it to have more than 2 letters of rec if a school takes up to 4? I've heard that if the school takes 4, you should submit 3. I have another recommender in mind but he would not be able to complete my letter until beginning of next year, so would it be better to submit my application with 2 letters earlier, or wait for 3?

I may have gone the optimistic route of going through this application cycle and am not only looking for advice but have some questions

. I was one of the few (probably) that submitted applications early in hopes that it would be easier for when I focus on my LSAT. So as it may, I’ve done all my applications between September and October. I’m practically stuck with what I have already submitted and am only waiting for my LSAT. Now that I am sitting here, I wish I had waited and done some more research/review before I decided to submit my applications. I do not believe my writing documents are bad, I have quite the confidence in them, but now i’m wondering how much better they could of been if I had a professional look at all my documents together to see what I am missing, what I could strengthen or completely omit.

I know my only options are to just email them some updated documents and hope they like what I’ve given them.

But I’m curious, is it possible to withdraw applications and resubmit in the same cycle? I do not think that’s possible, and even if it is. Does it look bad if you redo your application? Do they notice that you submitted one back in september, withdrew and then resubmitted a new one??

All advice would be helpful and if it’s just simply a silly idea, don’t be afraid to let me know. Law school won’t go away, so i know if it doesn’t work out this cycle, I have next year

I would appreciate it if you could provide insight into some potential questions I have received from various applicants with similar/repeated questions. Here they are:

If an applicant has gone to 3 academic institutions: two in US/Canada and one outside US/Canada, will all 3 transcripts be included in LSAC's GPA? It's worth noting that one institution attended outside US/Canada had a 4.0 GPA grading scale with a US/Canadian-based curriculum.

A course was taken twice/repeated. The transcript shows both grades along with course credit however the 1st attempt is marked as an "extra" course meaning while it does have a credit shown, its credit value is equivalently 0 as it does not count towards the institution's cGPA calculation. Hence, would the 1st attempt need to be mentioned/ will count towards LSAC's GPA calculation?

Would meeting a law school's 75th percentile GPA allow you to get in if you meet its 25th percentile LSAT score? Kinda like a reverse splitter per se.

I think it is helpful to address a few talking points I see posted on forums on why international applicants have a disadvantage when applying to American law schools.

I am in the process of reaching out to my professors to request letters of recommendation for my law school applications. Before formally adding them to the LSAC recommender list, I wanted to touch base with them to ensure they are comfortable providing a recommendation.

My question is whether I should include the LSAC recommendation link in the initial email or wait to hear back from them regarding their willingness to write a letter. I want to strike the right balance between providing the necessary information and not overwhelming them with details if they haven’t yet agreed to write the recommendation.

Hey everyone, while filling out my law school applications some are asking to list the volutneer worked we have done but theres a part that says hours/weeks im not sure how to fill out that section and when i tried inserting numbers it came up as invalid. does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

So I decided to wait until January for the LSAT. I had some pretty significant losses and struggles summer 23 and did not feel I would be ready by November. I even switched full-time jobs in November.

With that is the January LSAT too late for applications too really be considered?

Some people on the forms have talked about this admissions cycle being much slower then normal. Is that what most people are experiencing even in offers?

I have seen so much variation in opinion and I know we are not in the minds of the admissions office, but still just want to gauge general feelings on this.

Stats wise my UGPA was 3.91 (3.92 with CAS report) from a decently competitive institution. I had some technical issues in my final section of the Jan LSAT but otherwise felt really comfortable with all the questions I had.

I am working on finalizing my law school applications these days and waiting for my Jan Lsat score to come out.I know its late in the cycle but I want to apply for fall 2024.I am wondering whether I should try to finish them up by Jan 31st or take a bit more time to work on them and submit first or second week of February?Would it actually make any difference on my chances of getting admitted since Jan its almost over anyways...
