Hey Everyone! I wanted to ask you all for advice. I recently took the June LSAT and got a 158. Since this is my first LSAT, I have the option until today to cancel my score but im not sure if I should. I've listened to most opinions and understand law schools don’t care much about your past scores and only need to report your highest score. I plan on taking it again in August with a goal of a 170+. So, is there any benefit for cancelling or keeping? I did pay for the score preview so I don’t want to waste money if there’s even little benefit. Would a single score or a score improvement look better? Thanks so much.

"On Lesson 16/18 we were taught that another person’s argument or POV is not the conclusion. However, on Lesson 17/18 some of the conclusions to 2/5 questions were from another person’s POV, i.e., “They concluded” and “some believe”.

I’d love it if anyone can help clear up the confusion."

Hi 7-sagers,

I am planning to take the august lsat and aiming for 171+

My current stats by section:

LR -3 to -1

LG -1 to 0

RC -11 to -4

My average LSAT score is 168, currently taking one pt every 3days. Is it possible to improve my RC and bring my average up to 171+ In a month?

What are some good advices/materials for RC?

Thank you!!!!

I have been studying consistently for about 5 hours a day, 5/6 days a week and I am seeing no improvement. I took a PT and my score was exactly the same (144) as my first diagnostic test. My goal is to score 164. I have a study schedule of 5 months and feel very discouraged that I am seeing no improvement 2 months in. I don't know what I should be doing differently in order to start seeing improvements in my score. Any help/advice welcomed :)

Hi everyone!

I have been studying almost full-time for a few months now, and I have scored a 161 on the most two recent PT I have taken (PT 56 & 58) with a blind review scores of 172 and 170 respectively. I need at least a score of 166 for my target score (UBC) and I am planning on getting a tutor to help me with RC as I have not been able to improve that section by myself.

But, with the deadline for August coming up tomorrow, I am not sure if I will be able to get a 166 for August and I am considering registering for October test date instead. What are your thoughts? I know JY recommends signing up for the LSAT once your average is above your target score which clearly is not my case. Should I sign up for both? Or just try to get my score as high as possible for October?

Thank you in advance!

Translation and CLIR?

Hi everyone,

Was curious to know if anyone has tried Ellen Cassidy's method of the translation and CLIR and if they've found success with it? Also, how did you implement it in your prep AND practice tests? Appreciate it!

Hi all!

I feel like people often make a distinction between recent PTs that are available and older tests which some would say are less difficult. My question is: what counts as one of these recent tests? Is it anything after PT70? PT80? I would like to make sure to save those for when things get "real".

In the analytics section for PTs sections are given ratings of easy, medium, difficult. I've found out that these are averaged based on the extent to which 7sagers struggle with a given section. However, isn't this meaningless since the test is designed to be standard? The range of difficulty should change much because there is no curve...thoughts?

I've studied the past 2.5 months for an average of a bout 3-4 hours a day. I've finished David M. Killoran's Logic Games Bible, Mike Kim's LSAT trainer, and the Logical reasoning Loophole by Ellen Cassidy. I've gotten to a point where I feel like I can finish LG timed at -1 to -2, but I'd like to get that down to 0 with some practice. Obviously, I'd also like to improve my LR and RC as much as humanly possible. I haven't taken any fully timed LR sections, but I've been -2 to -4 untimed so far. All of this is a long winded way of asking, where do I start? I only have a month and a half until test day, so I can't imagine going over the basics again would be as beneficial as working on timing or the more difficult areas of each section. Advice would be appreciated.

Help Needed

Hi everyone,

I have took the LSAT twice, the first time scored 154, and the second time 155. My usually practice scores average at the low 160 range and I have used up almost all test prepping materials. I've been doing blind review and have studied for almost a year. I need your help, guidance, and suggestions on how I should prepping for the August LSAT and maybe thoughts on whether I should switch to GRE instead. Thank you.

Hello,

I am just about to begin studying for the LSAT. I have seen recommendations that I should take a practice LSAT before I begin studying as a baseline for what to work on. Should I use one of the practice tests on 7Sage's syllabus for this, or should I take the practice test from elsewhere, and if so where?

Thanks.

Retake or Not Retake a 170?

I recently got my June flex score back and I scored a 170 (first take). My gpa is 4.0 from a big public university and I have average to below average softs. I was pting in the upper 160s with a personal best of 173. Will apply in August, and Im KJD.

Should I retake in August?

Yeet: 170

The LSAT took me....well, a while. Here's the proof:

March '19: 161

November '20: Cancel (Proctor issues)

January '21: 166

June '21: 170

I wanted to post this to reinforce a point made many times on 7sage: the LSAT is learnable. It's a beast of a test, but you can tackle it. Believe in yourself and your ability to learn - especially after a tough PT or disappointing real score.

So thankful for this community and all of ya'll. I might have to stick around and teach some.

Also - JY you are my idol.

What to study with?

Hi Everyone,

I will be retaking the test in (mid) August and will be studying insanely hard for the month of July and beginning of August. I unfortunately discovered 7Sage late in my studies before taking the June LSAT, so I only had this forum for about a month or two. But it helped me raise my score 5 points in that time.... so I am going to continue using it of course. But are there any other books you would recommend to push me over into the 160s? My goal is a 163 but of course I will do everything in my power to get higher. I know I have it in me since I scored a 162 on one of my PTs.

I have already used Kaplan's books (bleh..they suck) and the LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim (amazing). I have heard great things about the Power Score Bibles. Are they really all that? I want to make sure what I purchase is worth it since I only have a little over a month. Thank you.

Hello,

I'm looking for some advice from some fellow 7sagers. I Started in January and was looking for a target score of 165, which is exactly what I got on this June test. However, in my past 10 Pts I've scored 160,169,170,169,170,166,171,165,164 (test was here) 2 week break and finally a 172. I am 100% retaking the test but I am not sure as to whether I should be cancelling or keeping my score. My target law school is Osgood (Canadian law school, I'm from Canada) and my CGPA will 100% be 3.5 or 3.6 (0.1/0.2 below what they require). I know I will be a splitter applicant, Any advice is welcomed, thank you.
