Hi everyone. I'm coming from a psychology background, and I feel like I'm struggling to understand some of the legal jargon that's on the LR/RC sections. Some simple terms I understand, but for a lot of concepts I need some basic review to comprehend what's being said in the passages. I'm not really sure where to start. It's hard to tell where to begin when looking online for articles or lists of words, because I don't want to waste my time learning terms that might not show up on the exam.

Does anyone have any resources, websites, articles or advice for how to navigate this weak point of mine? Someone gave a good tip to read for structure and context. Any other tips are more than welcome. Thank you all greatly!

Struggling

Hello everyone,

I've been studying on and off since the summer of last year, in January I picked things up a bit and have seen a slight improvement in being able to pick up on wrongs and patterns more. I am however overwhelmed because I am not seeing the progress that I would like. I plan to take the test in November, can someone PLEASE help me come up with a study schedule? I work from home and have 5 to 6 hours a day to study but I don't know where to start, right now I am kind of jumping around and that's probably why I am not progressing as I would like. Should I do core lessons for one hour? Work out problems for another? I mean, I don't know I am clueless. I need a 165 , currently at 149-156 range and have 6 more months to get there. Also, what is the best study guide for the logic games, I really need help with that, if I can nail that, I think I can get to where I need to be.

I will greatly appreciate any feedback whatsoever. Thanks.

Hi all,

Long time discussion thread reader, first time poster. Last July, as I prepared to enter my senior year of undergrad, I began preparing to take the LSAT in November. I was on track to take the test then but was briefly derailed by several COVID-related hurdles (an all too familiar refrain). I finally took the LSAT in February and scored a 170. This is a score with which I was happy (I had a 158 cold diagnostic so I was satisfied with the increase) but felt I could improve on. Before the February test, I was consistently PTing in the 170s and was shooting for a goal score of 173. Now, I'm less than a month from graduation and am trying to strategize the best course of action moving forward. I'm about to start my first real, adult job in June (a harrowing thought) and am trying to determine whether I should juggle a prep and work schedule to get those 3 additional points (most likely in August), or if I should cleanse my hands of the LSAT and let my applications settle as they will in the fall (for reference, I'm a non-URM/non-international applicant with a 3.8 GPA. I'll most likely apply to a handful of T-14s and really have my sights set on a school like Columbia or NYU).

If anyone has wisdom to dispense, I'm all ears. Additionally, if anyone is in a similar position (currently scoring upper 160s-low 170s, shooting for mid 170+) please shoot me a message so we can work out a study group situation. Thanks all for your time and help, and happy LSATting!

Hi Y'all !

So as you can see I have a pretty big gap between my raw scores (Pt 40 - 147) and (Pt 41 - 150) and my latest BR score of 171. What are some helpful tips to close this Gap? My biggest problem is of course timing, whenever I am timed the anxiety and nervousness kicks in and comprehension drops. The LSAT is not friendly to those who have been slow readers their whole life. If you're on my boat, I know you feel my pain.

Thanks 7Sage!

I plan on taking the LSAT for my second time in August, and am about 1/4 through the core curriculum, and am wondering when I should start drilling on practice tests.

Should I take practice tests, then go through core curriculum on problem types that I did bad on, or should I finish the core curriculum, then re-watch any question types that I got wrong and try to fix my mindset? And then repeat that process to make sure I'm really learning the material?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I'm planning on taking the August 2021 Lsat and I'm trying to practice taking prep tests with the new format. It will be 4 section with 1 unscored. On 7 sage theres only the Flex LSAT (3 sections) or regular (4 sections all scored), does anyone have any tips on how I should practice.

Syllabus Sequence

I'm currently working through the course syllabus in the order presented, but I know that I really struggle with logic games, which come later in the course. Is there any reason not to skip to the LG section now to give myself that much more time to practice?

Is there a way to modify the "Date Taken" for PrepTest that you manually input your score for? I had some pen & paper preptests that I took prior to signing up for 7sage and I would like to be able to include them in my analytics without it making my most recent score go down. Otherwise, it just sets the date taken as the date you input the answers on 7sage. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

Hello,

I’m looking to take the LSAT in August and start law school in fall of 2022. The law school that I’m shooting for has a median LSAT score of 155. I’ve gotten through only 52 hours of the curriculum thus far. I’ve taken 2 practice test’s and scored a 147 and a 149. Also, my GPA is lower due to some poor decisions when I first entered college. So, I would love to at least make in the 160-165 ball park to hopefully make up for not having a stellar GPA. I

I work a full-time job and am attending school part-time while studying for the LSAT. Any suggestions on what my next few months of studying should look like?

Thank you!

For me it takes 10 (and 1/8th?) Dixon Ticonderogas in black (bc the erasers are better and black is cool). Just cleaning some stuff out and remembered I'd been saving these in my "used" pencil shot glass... just the ones I used on games. Different way to visualize that while we can tweak methods for individual efficiency, and it may seem hopeless sometimes, you ultimately just need to put in the work and have faith in the process. Eventually, maybe like 10 pencils in (or likely less for anyone besides me), you'll get there.

Flex Curve

I take the June LSAT-Flex and have been studying but not seeing a ton of improvements. I am aiming for at least a 156 on my first LSAT. Im kind of confused on whether or not there is a curve still in place for the flex exam. For example, I scored a 148 on the November 2019 preptest doing the flex format. I scored -37 which would have given me a score of 155 on the score conversion chart that 7sage provides if it was the traditional four section format. Is there a curve for the flex exams in place or would I have scored a 148 if it would have been a flex originally.

What do you guys feel about taking an extended break?

I student 6 days a week (3, 2-hours sessions). Sometimes I'll do games for fun if I'm not tired or dabble with some weird LR question, or an untimed 90's ruthless passage- which can be a total of 7 hours per day. I've heard people who've had positive experiences taking about a week off. In my experience, the 6 days a week with sundays off works. Granted, I'm not as motivated as I am on friday & saturday as I'll be on a monday but I get through it. While I'm not burned out, I'm considering trying the extended off days to see if it'll impact my work. While there is some improvement, it no way reflects the work I'm putting in. I've become numb to the experience and treat it as a job. I don't excited to study but I don't put it off because I don't want to. I just stick to schedule.

What do you guys think about taking a week off? Have you tried it? How did it impact you?

Hi everyone, is there a section of this site that explains how to actually interpret the data in the Question Performance section. In particular, I am trying to decipher the "timing" bar. I like to hover over it and compare my time to the target time, but I would like to better understand why it is sometimes green/red and what the different letters over the bar indicate (how long I spent debating that answer?). Thanks for your #help!

Hello,

I want to re-buy the yearly 7sage course; however, it says that my account is not bundled with Prep Plus through my LSAC account. I'm wondering how I bundle with Prep Plus so that I can have access to all the materials. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

7sage Timed Feature

Can we get a feature where we just adjust the times for taking sections and prep tests. 5 mins increments/decrements in time are more useful than jumping from a timed section to a time and half.

Here is the link to check to see if you have all the right components to the system you are using in order to have the system check on test day go smoothly. If everything checks out then I would not worry about it. If something is wrong there is a FAQ section that has many little tips and tricks to use to try and get all systems go, but if that does not work there is a link to connect to a representative of ProctorU to help figure out what is going on with your computer. On test day you will have to have the browser extension and microphone on and camera, and have some security features off, to allow ProctorU to proctor you. I am not sure if you need to have an account, but I signed out of my account and I am still able to test my equipment. i would also recommend using chrome as your browser (recommended by ProctorU) I have also heard problems with people using firefox and or safari, I am not sure if those problems still persist but I have heard of them.

Time anxiety

I constantly find myself checking my remaining time especially during RC and LC. I know this puts me at a disadvantage because i get so stressed about making sure that i have enough time to answer the remaining questions that i don't put my full effort into answering the questions right in front of me. All- in- all i feel distracted because of my constant need to watch the remaining time clock. Does anyone have any advice/tips that have helped them?

Where to start again?

Took the April LSAT and have given myself time off from studying until now. I am not sure I will retest (waiting until I find out my score to register for June), and I am not sure where to start studying again. Any advice on how folks have started studying a second time would be greatly appreciated!

Hi All,

I'm wondering how I should prioritize my time in order to get the most out of 7Sage. For reference I am scoring in the low-150s now, and am hoping to score in the low 160s by the time I take the August 2021 LSAT. Of the two strategies listed below, which strategy might be the most efficient way to spend my time studying?

  • Aim to complete every learning module first, and then move on to drilling Practice Tests?
  • Split my time somewhat evenly between modules and tests?
  • I do pretty poorly on the LG and LR Sections, so my gut is telling me that drilling practice tests without some major foundational work on those sections would not be the best use of my time. However, I don't want to spend so much time on modules that I miss out on the experience of gaining the test-taking stamina, practicing under time constraints, etc. that comes with drilling Practice LSATs.

I'm open to any and all takes :)

    Thank you!

Way to copy/paste our Q notes?

When you go in to BR questions, there's a box at the bottom of the A/C that allows you to type in your own notes.

I'd love to be able to transfer these saved notes to a separate document later if needed, but currently CTRL+C doesn't seem to work here. I'm guessing it might have ST to do with us not being allowed to CTRL+C the questions and answers themselves.

Site admins, is there a way you could make it possible for us to just copy our own study notes from questions?

    Hey guys,

I recently finished most of the core curriculum (I didn't finish the grouping games nor start the RC because I got burnt out and was ready to start doing some PTs to see where I stand. I started with a 153 diagnostic and just scored a 161 and 164 on my first two PTs. I plan to take roughly 6 PTs a week - and BR those - until I take the Flex in June, as well as piece away at the RC part of the curriculum over the next 2 weeks. I'm curious if you guys think it is possible to hit 170's by June and if my study plan adequately sets me up to reach this goal.
