if I pin a question while doing a LR problem set, where can find it to revisit it again?
I'm looking for a study buddy or two in the Sacramento area. We can meet for coffee and discuss strategies :)
I am taking the June 2023 LSAT in-person and wanted to confirm the following questions:
Am I allowed to bring 5 pieces of scratch paper to use during the exam?
Am I permitted to bring my own writing utensils, and are there any requirements/specifications that I should note about them?
Thank you!!!
I indicated to LSAC that I don't have a quiet place to test and haven't heard anything back from them. Has anyone else had this problem? I saw a while ago someone said LSAC gave them a reimbursement for a hotel room and wondering if I should reach out to them or if they will let me know what they can offer
After sitting for the October LSAT, I took the LSAT writing portion the following day. Upon re-reading it after its recent approval, I am worried that because I made some grammatical and phrasing mistakes, it will impact how schools view my application. I am registered for Nov. 25, but want to send my apps off as soon as possible. If I do retake, is it worth postponing my apps for roughly one week to have a better piece of writing sent to the schools? Does it replace the current one on file? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I just stumbled on the news.
"Due to the COVID-19 emergency, LSAC has made the difficult decision to cancel the March LSAT. Candidates will be rescheduled for the next LSAT and be offered additional scheduling options should interactions continue to be limited. "
I had been working from 62-71 for most of my prep this time and had done 29-38 previously. I meant to order 52-61 to use for some drill so I could work on my weaker sections. But I found that I accidentally ordered another volume of 62-71. Would it be better for me to actually use that and retake some sections of PTs I had done, as my original copy is heavily annotated, or to return it and get the volume I meant to have?
I've been studying on my own with books but I really need to improve on LR to do well in December after bombing Sept. So I new to such terms as drilling and blind review.
Anyone going to the Temple information session tomorrow morning? Curious if any other 7Sagers will be there.
Hi there, I know you all rank how hard questions or passages are on a five-point scale. I figured you do it based on what percentage of people got a certain question wrong.
I just finished a preptest (66) and I'm particularly interested now. You ranked game 1 four out of five in difficulty, but said it should take five minutes to complete. Game 2 got 10 minutes target time, but was ranked three out of four in difficulty.
Those are just examples. I'm not looking for specific feedback about preptest 66. I was just curious how you decide how hard questions are, or how long we should spend on them.
Thanks!
If I want to go to say, session 18 or 20 after I logged out, is there a way where I can go straight to 18 the next time, or do I just need to start with 1 and click next 17 more times to get to where I left off? Just wondering if there is a quicker way each time I log out.
Matt
I am scheduled to take the LSAT Flex next week. I put in an equipment request with LSAC to use one of their surface pros. I tried to take a prep test with it using 7sage's online prep test tool and I found it to be incredibly glitchy. When I tried to find highlight things or select answer choices with my finger, it would zoom in a lot and I had a hard time getting it to zoom back out. I'm wondering if anyone has used the surface during the actual test and had this same issue while inside the actual test?
I'm living in Jaffa - Tel Aviv right now and taking the test this Monday and hoping against hope that someone out here in the 7sage community is here as well and willing to study with me as I/we prepare this last week.
how did you guys study using the core curriculum/practice tests? did you go through the entire core curriculum as is (ex: doing several of the weaken question problem sets in a row) or did you not do all and go back to them? I'm just confused as to what I would use for drilling after I go through the entire core curriculum in order? (also, the core curriculum is just considered everything before you reach the practice tests correct? or is it everything before diagnostic?)
I was attempting to create my user account and I am very confused. Does anyone know how to go about the section where it says "institutions'
I am planning to take June and JFKU is one of the few centers nearby. However, I heard the seating at JFKU law in both Oct and February was very bad and multiple people were seated on the same desk.
If you took the test at JFKU recently, can you describe how seating was for you or message me?
Hi everyone!
I've recently decided to take one more year off before I start law school so I have adequate time to prepare for the LSAT. I'm currently in Colombia working with a grant and I absolutely love being here. For my second gap year, I would love to be abroad somewhere else for about 6 months at least before I start law school, and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to begin looking for opportunities. I'm here with a grant that took a year to apply to and I don't really have the time to do that all over again, but I'm learning that it's not as difficult as I once thought to just go and work in another place.
Any advice you guys have on programs or how to look for jobs in a new country (digital or in person) or anything at all would be so appreciated.
Hope you are all having great days :)
Hi everyone (mainly @ tutors),
I'm currently looking for a tutor primarily for mastering LR and RC. If you're an approved and vetted tutor from 7Sage and have space for a student, please DM / comment!
I'm averaging 155 and really hoping to break into the lows 160s for the October/November! Running into timing issues for RC , LG averaging -5, and LR averaging -10 lol (need the most help with). I would really like help creating a study schedule for the next 2 months and also like help for improving on these sections efficiently. Please let me know if you guys have any tutor recommendations or are a tutor yourself! Thank you :)
How would you say the retake went? Was it easier, harder, the same? Do you think you did better than your score on the first test? Not sure if powerscore includes these tests that are given in their crystal ball prediction or not.
I took September LSAT but ended up cancelling the score.
I am 31 week into my pregnancy and my due date overlaps with December test, so instead of postponing the test, I decided to go ahead and take it for the experience of it.
I had about 3 months to prepare for the September test and the more I studied, the more I felt lost.
Also, with pregnancy and a full time job, I couldn't spend as much time studying as I wished.
My biggest issue is timing. English is my second language and even though I do not have comprehension problem, my reading speed is slow. (less than 240 word/min)
I believe this is something that I can train myself for the next few months.
I do want to make a better study plan this time since I have more time in my hand.
With 11 months to go, at which point should I sign up for 7 sage prep classes ( I am planing to sign up for the basic one)?
Even though I am planning to continue with my study after the delivery, I am expecting December and January will be really difficult to spare a lot of time on studying with the new born.
My only study materials in the past were Mike Kim's 'LSAT trainer' and Actual 10s.
I've used 7sage's LG videos for LG explanation and really liked it.
I do have most of the past prep tests. Do I need to buy any other books?
I have heard a lot of good things about Power Score Bibles. Is 7sage alone enough or will I benefit from more prep materials such as Power Score?
Any thoughts/ advice will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you!
Starting ssri's- and I just want to know whether it's prevented anyone from getting a high score on the actual test. I managed to do pretty well on the January LSAT (172) before I started medication, an am aiming for a retake in August shooting for 175+. I'm just scared that it'll totally prevent me from doing well!
Looking for a study buddy in Nashville! Hit up this post if you'd like to discuss.
Proctors: The proctors were the school staff and were reasonable. The main supervisor did announcements regarding test instructions from the podium in the lecture hall over the mic so everybody could hear it. The test was done in a very large lecture Hall and all the test takers were in that single big hall.
Facilities: The restrooms were right outside the lecture hall. It got crowded during the break and there was a small line in front of the restrooms, but not something that was too bad.
What kind of room: The Hall was very large with seating for about 300-500 people, but test takers were seated so that one seat between consecutive test takers was left empty. This was almost necessary as else the test takers would have been seated too close. There were around 100-150 test takers in the hall.
How many in the room: ~100-150
Desks: The desks were long continuous lecture hall style of seating. The chairs were individual and height-adjustable.
Left-handed accommodation: Not left handed so I can't tell, but the desk chair style didn't appear to pose an issue for left-handedness.
Noise levels: The nature of large lecture Hall meant that there could be people sneezing, coughing, sniffling at times. I happened to get the wrong seat where two test takers right next to me were sick and were sneezing for various sections of the test. This did distract me in the middle of a very tough section as it got louder. Other than test takers noises, there wasn't any other noise.
Parking: Right next to the lecture Hall room. The parking is marked with a notice that it requires parking permit, but they said one could park there. It would have been better if they put up a notice next to parking notice that the LSAT test takers could park there during the duration of the test.
Time elapsed from arrival to test: About an hour.
Irregularities or mishaps: None that I noticed.
Other comments: The only main issue was noise from other sick test takers due to the nature of the large Lecture Hall
Would you take the test here again? likely yes
