Do LSAT writers not realize that there are non native speakers taking the test as well? I was on track for a 170+ for November until I started PT80+. I'm all over the place. Half the time I don't even know what the questions are saying.

Are the wordings on PT80+ more difficult to digest or I'm just tired?

I got -9 on my diagnostic, -2 BR. Today's -1 was from PT1. I'm wondering if it's just because of the passages that I was able to pull this off? Did anyone else find the passages from PT1 to just be easier...?

Sharing this for my personal growth and in case it benefits a single person. I went -5 on RC for the first time (usually -9 to -11) and immediately took note of what I did differently. Looking at it on paper, it's all so obvious, but it's stuff that apparently I had to learn the hard way.

Highlight less

I must be losing 1-3 questions' worth of time switching between colors, highlighting, and sometimes even erasing. Stahhhp!

Worry less

Don't freak out and reread anything for the sake of committing it to memory or catching every little detail. The test writers have word minimums. Like someone said in one of the 7Sage podcasts, lots of RC passage material will go over your head, that's what it's supposed to do - the game, then, is fighting the instinct to fully understand every single thing that's handed to you. Every sentence cannot be the most important sentence. Unhighlighted space or unremarkable information should be expected and embraced, not fretted over. Read actively and move tf on.

Concentrate... but really

Nothing in the world exists except this sentence.

Rush rush rush

Shed the mindset that the first passage will get you into the groove.

I have taken 3 PT's so far and I have been scoring around -14/-13 on LR. Do you guys think that it is just a matter or going back to the fundamentals of how to tackle question types and drill those questions? Or should I just keep taking separate timed sections on LR?

Hello,

Can someone please provide their process for RC blind review? Do you typically go through the answers using only your low resolution summaries or is it beneficial to reread the passage and do entirely new summaries then answer then go through the questions?

Need Advice

Good Evening,

As I am starting the logic games section, I am noticing that setting up the board games is the most difficult part for me, I am able to make the inferences necessary on my own and figure out the questions in a timely manner but the hardest part is to not only set up the boards efficiently but correctly, what do you think is the best method to master the set up in order to develop proficiency in logic games? #help

Hey 7Sagers,

Here's the official October 2020 LSAT-Flex Discussion Thread.

**Please keep all discussions of the October 2020 LSAT-Flex here!**(/red)

Rules:

You can't discuss specific questions. 🙅‍♂️

You CANNOT say things such as the following:

  • Hey, the 3rd LG was sequencing and the last one was In/Out, right?” (Don't mention the game type)
  • The last question in the LR section was a lawgic heavy MBT! Was the answer (B)?” (Don't mention the question type or ask what the answer was)
  • What was the answer for the last question of RC? I think it was an inference question? Was the answer (C)?” (Don't mention the question type or ask what the answer was)

Hi, I just finished the October LSAT and now turn to the writing part. Do anyone know if we need a web camera for the LSAT writing? Can I use a computer without camera? Thank you!

Hi! I am confused when I should chain the conditional statements to make inferences and when I shouldn't in the In/Out games. I noticed that when JY explains the games where each of them connects in some way, sometimes he chains them and then makes inferences, and sometimes he doesn't. So I am not sure when I SHOULD NOT chain? If the conditions connect to each other in a chain then why is he not doing it in some while doing it in others? Also, I have been chaining the games whenever I can because that helps me make inferences, sometimes that helps me get the answers right, sometimes it doesnt. So I am not sure what I should do.

Recently on a reddit post I found people saying it was okay to use command F on the flex test for RC and refer back to a specific part on a passage. This sounded kind of "sus" to me but I wanted to make sure and ask people here that might know. But if it is allowed that would be a major hack for myself and I'm sure many others, as I often have an idea of what a question is referring too and all i need is a way to quickly go back to that exact part in the passage and confirm my thoughts.

Hello! I am struggling during my PTs without being able to scribble notes next to important parts of the passage. Highlighting is okay, but it gets pretty distracting by the end with so many colors popping out at me. Does anyone have an efficient system (writing it out on paper seems to be taking too long) for marking your passages?

Does anyone have any tips for Must Be True or Necessary/Sufficient Assumption questions? I know they should probably be easy but they are the question types I consistently get wrong and find the hardest to understand

I know it might be a little late but did anyone else have the August RC section with the bee's passage and the patriotism/ecocentrism comparative passage? I'm starting to think that it was one of the hardest reading comp sections I've ever seen and am wondering how others felt about it? The comparative passage could've been written in Sumerian and I would've had a better shot. Did anyone have this section and do well?

    Hey,

Just an observation I've had. My logic games prep has been really focused on 1-35 with some 40s and recently some low 50s mixed in.

I've been working very hard on these earlier games for about 2 months, and have made a lot of progress. I started out totally sucking at games (-14 diagnostic) and through foolproofing, or a version of it, have gotten to -4 average or so, and still improving.

A few recent problem sets have totally killed me with conditional sequencing though, and I realized that this game type is very uncommon in early games, increasing in frequency (though still relatively rare) in later games.

Are there other trends like this to be aware of, in games specifically (besides substitution questions)?

I wanted to know if anyone had any tips for improving LR and RC scores? I am currently getting -9 to -11 for LR, and around the same for RC. I also am finding that I will sometimes miss easy ones on LR, but when I review, I don't understand why I missed it in the first place. And for RC, I feel like I understand the passage, but I get tripped up during the questions. #help
