@soflaw that's a great indication that you'll enjoy the life of being a lawyer :D, I presume!
I got this wrong because I thought it was asking abt the third para lol. such a mindless mistake
I'm starting to see the benefit of ctrl+f, low res summary is great at retaining info efficiently, but questions like this require attention to details. We cannot remember every single detail obviously, so, by eliminating the wrong ones, we must ctrl+f for such questions, and get info needed for securing the right answer
no idea what I can do with these info, except answering the LSAT questions
So many nuances in this analysis, I absolutely LOVE it. I myself went in with the anticipation that I needed to look for an answer choice, which shows that no evidence of LHB affecting planets other than the Earth and the Moon could be found. However that's too extreme and unnecessary. The question is asking for support, not determination. Further, I had this fatal flaw, I thought lack of support for a conclusion means the reverse must be true. WRONG!! I was already excited to have this epiphany, but as I continued to read, I got goosebumps (ok I'm exaggerating but still): Answer choices A and D are intrinsically the same, in terms of establishing the absence of evidence for the competing theory, yet consequentially different, as A rules out such a competing theory to a sufficient extent. So, many, nuances!!!!!!!!
can't help but feel like I got this right since the previous lesson was hinting at it lol. but I guess that means my application of the technique is on point! p.s. I'm just leaving lots of comments to stay invested and focused lol,,
Gosh this is so hard to concentrate on... now looking back at that stealing thunder passage or the patent rights amongst faculty/university/others were in fact so much fun :( I feel like I'm kinda stuck when reading this scientific passage. While I could still make predictions and create low res summaries, I'm not as inclined to sense what the author's underlining tone is. The analysis does a beautiful job, pointing out that the author shows limitations of current research. But when I was reading I was hardly digesting the information. You know what? As I'm typing I'm starting to realize maybe I shouldn't try that hard to digest the info, but instead, look at what the purpose each section is serving... Hmm. Carrying on!!!!!!
@Sabercat48 lol did your classes actually enhance your experience with this passage? For me the content feels a bit more difficult to engage with, since it's quite foreign. I wonder if having relevant knowledge makes it less dull
Oh I did not select A but my reason was different, the passage told us that if the information is too negative, it should not be disclosed. In my memory, this part did not mention that this is sth that lawyers are concerned with, it's jut stated as a phenomenon. Further, even if this is implicitly implying that lawyers believe this (overridingly negative info should not be disclosed), answer choice A seems to be contradictory: A essentially says lawyers are especially concerned with positively framing very negative info. However the passage claims that very negative info are simply not disclosed, not positively framed.
Nevertheless I fell for C, I thought it was implied.
Upon reading the lesson, I highlighted "it’s good to make sure that you have specific line support for the answer you pick" on my notes.
If I were to do this again, I would ctrl+F and search for the words "lawyers believe" to get concrete support!!!
LSAT you just wait I'm nailing you
I was hesitating between A and B. I chose B since I felt that A was a bit of a stretch. It's only when I read the analysis, I realized that excluding the charitable institutions was explicitly mentioned! This is just a little bit concerning, feels like I might have overlooked other important info that'd result in mistakes. RC you say too much
When I was doing the question myself, I had a clear realization why Kevin emphasized in the previous video, that the main point is the author's view. Knowing this made choosing the correct answer choice so easy!!! Otherwise I would have chosen an answer choice that's closer to a summary than stating the main point, as that's how I understood the term main point in the past
I misunderstood answer choice B, I thought it meant the author is replying to the objection to custom-made medical illustrations (misrep) raised in the second para, not the variant that is in the third para itself. I was thinking that this choice is far off, the author is not responding to the second paragraph... Well. Guess this means I need to be more articulate with what the choice is even saying
only 15 comments on this one so far? Personally I find it very worth noting that we should mark that "Author criticizes that reason". When I was reading, I rly just overlooked the sentence "But this is mistaken". I was focused on predicting the next perspective and its potential content, and paying attention to the shady lawyers' trick. This line is subtle but essential!
@KDLaw78 Scholar, KDLaw78, suggests that "[Answer choice] B is proof of the emergence of an individual's rejection of Z. Bardu. "
oh so the end is the awakening moment
