I thought D was a good answer because the other dinosaur could be a case of convergent evolution, where it had the same features but wasnt related so it couldn't teach us much about the evolution of the T-Rex.

I guess the reason that D would still be the wrong answer is if we imagine the T-rex to be a bird and the other dinosaur to be a bat. Even if they are not related, both need to be light to be able to fly, so function not relation is the most important part.

Does that make sense?

I am confused about AC C. I see that the author is wary of subtitles as they can range from inaccurate to censorship, so how is C supported? I get the idea that a fully accurate translation is supported but I dont think the author believed an accurate subtitle is possible. The assumption that the author wants the movie to be watchable seems like a jump. to me the text equals supports that films cannot be accurately subtitled and so the only way to enjoy a foreign film is to learn the language its in. the author seems to be advocating for no changes to the film.

What supports that the author would be in favor of an accurate translation? especially since we have no support that an accurate translation is possible?

I guess if the there was a third plan (turn to public space) it would makes sense they would be interested in that. But wouldn't the residents also think the public auditorium have the same seat issues? it doesnt seem like a third option (refurbish, destroy, or covert) that solves the problem.

@WilliamStimpson I think this is answered in the first sentence of the stim. "A recent study confirms that nutritious breakfasts make workers more productive" that shows us that the study is focusing on consuming breakfast, and that free isn't what is being studied. I don't like this question either

@KCC56 the way I saw it is there could be just 3 commuters on the highway who were causing the accidents. if they were the only ones who obeyed the speed limit it would lead to the conclusion. SO we don't need the majority obey, just the important ones.

I understand the right answer is B and that that is attacking the premise, but isn't attacking the premise disproving the conclusion? can somebody explain?

@lovejeb I also assumed with B that the tests don't need to be related to how well the engine runs. B could be pointing out that expensive oil tastes better than cheaper oil. But the ability to distinguish the two is not tied to the performance of motor oil in applications that we care about (the engine/the car's performance)

@theninth I have the same problem. in my BR i often find that i could have made a more educated guess between the answer choices by reading carefully. My new strategy if i get down to two answers is to go back and SLOWLY read the stim and then SLOWLY read the two answer choices. I have yet to put this into practice.

I am confused here. I was torn between A and E. it seems to me that the reason E is wrong entirely hinges on the word "severely". Is there another reason E is incorrect? or, if AC E removed the word severely would it be as or more correct than AC A?

I think i disagree with JY on his explanation on why neurological research isnt mentioned in passage B. B mentions sociological research in relationship to music, and then neurological basis of infant development. but never neurological research together. But emotion was explicitly mentioned in relation to music in both passages. this was a very tricky question.

Did anybody else draw a "causal" diagram for this question? My idea was that drawing the causal chain would help me make sure the answers were flowing the right way. Will this technique lead me wrong?

@RubyBlue Yep I completely agree with you here. However none of the other answer choices are correct so this is the best worst answer. I hate this question.

Both B and C are flaws, but C is the bigger flaw because the argument falls apart without it.

My cake is good because it is eaten at the potluck same rate as Gerald garbage cake. well there is a flaw that eaten at the potluck is a measure of being good. but more importantly if my cake is equal to garbage by any metric, that does not mean it is good.

I came back to this after a long break. I am definitely more comfortable with chaining conditionals like this but it is still hard. This is worth spending time on because this is often how conditionals look on the test: convoluted.

So this question didn't make sense to me in conditional logic, so I ended up drawing the intersecting sects as circles. this form made the answer really obvious. This is reminder to myself and to others that sometimes conditional logic is not the clearest way to do things. Don't be afraid to visualize on your scrap paper on the LSAT.

I was really struggling with this so I used the new AI tool to ask for more practice questions. One of my issues with this 7sage course in general is that the practice exercises are great but there were never enough of them. the built in AI (under chats) is a great solution.

To anyone who needs more practice, 7sages AI bot is really good at making worksheets. I would highly recommend using this and drilling again and again until translations are second nature.

So for both group 3 and group 4 I really struggle with negation. My problem is, I dont know whether I am supposed to carry the negation into the translation rule, or leave it.

for example:

flowers do NOT grow unless the garden is watered

are the two concepts /flowers and Garden watered?

and then to apply the unless rule its--

//flowers --> Garden watered?

OR

is the not part of the unless rule and its flower and garden watered so the translation is:

/flowers --> Garden watered?

Wouldn't being overly aggressive also waste time? if you realized you eliminated the right answer you have to go back and reread all the answer choices.

I picked D because it was the only one that related to the New Woman. Thinking about it any further was just confusing.

I am confused why A is wrong. The court said the current interpretations of Long standing tradition was too narrow. the court didnt narrow the definition, it brooded it. But I would sill say that it is based on a narrow definition of "long standing". just that the court rejected it
