@HaleyJ No problem! Really doing BR has been super helpful for me because it is very targeted review
The point of BR is that it is blind; you strengthen your reasoning abilities by assessing whether you got the answer right or not under timed conditions without knowing whether you need to change it or not. BR takes time out of the equation so that you can focus on your ability to understand the question, but there is still the challenge of not knowing which ones you actually got wrong/were just uncertain on.
Check out powerscore's crystal ball. They predict what the upcoming LSAT administrations will look like and provide tests and sections that have similar questions. They've been accurate in the past.
@jwn1060 "Given the information in the passage" is definitely a red herring. I'm trying to come up with a rule to deal with this if I come to it in the future, but it's difficult...
This answer only makes sense to me with the "most" part of it. I don't see how you can say that not accepting one claim means you must accept another. However, this is the closest of all the ACs to the principle in the argument because it removes the other hypothesis. At least, that's what I think. All the ACs suck
For (D), how do we know that dust = all debris? Is this just a reasonable assumption OR are we supposed to remember that volcanic eruptions emit dust and sulfuric acid droplets? In that case, couldn't the debris include sulfuric acid? (D) is still the best AC option, but does it feel like a stretch to jump from dust to debris for anyone else?
Try creating rules for yourself to utilize the next time you come to the same issues
@christinabarta1900 Jumping in here. It may not be a NA but if the other waters are the same stillness as Shooter's Island + the correct AC, it would be a VERY weak argument because we don't have anything, as mentioned, that separates Shooter's from the other islands. If this were the case, we would need something to separate it because of the premise detailing the vast difference in juveniles between Shooter's and the other islands
@Kevin_Lin Thanks for the response, Kevin! I'm referring to the 'why you must skip questions on the LSAT' lesson (https://7sage.com/lessons/next-steps/resources-for-taking-simulated-lsats/why-you-must-skip-questions-on-the-lsat).
It's possible I misinterpreted it! Anyway, I'll try out your suggested strategy on my next section.
7Sage suggests you should go through all the questions you feel confident about first, leaving harder ones for your second-go-through. This makes a lot of sense for LR, but I don't know how the approach would work for RC. Do you go through all of a RC section and leave all uncertain questions unanswered before your second pass OR do you do you first pass-through of a passage and then hit the unanswered Qs in that passage before moving on? (or another approach)
There's just a big difference in terms of the information you have to keep in mind between LR and RC. I would love to hear people's strategies on this...
I'm still having trouble with this question, got it right in regular time but changed it to E in BR. Would changing (E) to "presumes, without providing justification, that the number and variety of great artworks already in the world affects the ability for aesthetic fulfillment derivable from any contemporary artwork" make it a correct AC?
I usually use both. The written explanations often don't have the full, in-depth explanation that the videos do. The videos sometimes have tips to keep in mind for future questions which is also helpful. I use the written explanations kind of as a precursor for the video explanations.
i tried to use the contact support buttonbut it didnt work for me. my BR listed all 25 qs to review. this is the first time its happened. can someone from it check on this for me? thank you!
It could help to focus on drilling only questions that you got incorrect to hone in on what you need to improve on. That helped me a lot
I'm with you. Almost everything is at a low priority for me (aside from one tag in LR which is medium) which doesn't help me focus on certain questions
Is anyone else having issues with the playback on videos today? It stops almost every 5 seconds. The button to contact support on my account also does not work...
What does link assumption mean in the analytics? Does it mean that the author makes an obvious jump from a premise to a conclusion?
How can people tell that "your friend would not expect you to be there if you felt ill" was a premise? It just felt like additional context
I was able to get this question right because all the other ACs were bad, but it seems like the stimulus states that chimpanzees have no language similar to humans. Yet the right AC says "there is no clearcut linguistic implications for chimpanzees." Isn't not having a language similar to humans a linguistic implication and a specific one at that?
