For anyone who may be making the same mistake I did:

The experiment yields a result relevant to the cloned flys who had their genes altered.

On the other hand, the conclusion says that flys of that species, in general had the same cause for their lack of UV vision.

I made the mistake of conflating the "experimental" flys of species X with all flys of species X.

Altruism is an issue the author tries to answer in terms of evolutionary psychology. He isn't trying to tell us that evolutionary psychology logically infers altruism, but that the concept of altruism is a thing that exists, and it may be explained by the hypotheses he provides (hypotheses which are based in evolutionary psychology).

lmk if this helps I just dumped my thoughts down.

well there are 4 passages and you have 35 min to complete them. so I'd say 6-8min each passage depending on number of questions. then again, time can vary based on the difficulty of each passage

13 makes no sense. you don't build the structural design around the interior features, you build the interior around the structural design.

My boss wants me to scam an old lady.

I am obligated to listen to my boss

Therefore, I ought to scam the old lady.

Am i tripping or is the link between obligation and what you ought to do an assumption?

if you're starting just starting out, I'd say its okay to be more lenient. But really you should be simulating it like a real exam, especially as you get more experienced.

I dont understand the point of these question types. Sure you can have an idea of the right answer, but to make you go back to the passage and confirm the answer seems like an unfair way to waste our time

The stem says "such as diatoms". maybe there is 10 000 types of algae and and there wasnt any notable increase in diatoms because there are just an overwhelming amount of other types of algae that maybe did leave residue behind.

I took B as -- cause is absent (expensive produce) and effect is present (big gardens). is this wrong because relative size of gardens has nothing to do with amount of gardens?

It would be cool to have a little notebook to pop open and jot down our low res summaries before moving on.

why would I assume that even if every band had more professional individual artists in it that it would be classified as a professional band? Imagine putting Ozzy in with BTS; shit sure wouldn't sound professional. Just can't reconcile D as the right answer in my head.

I think its because its a only a necessary condition, meaning their could be other criteria for it being justified other than being used in operation of business. However, if it does not meet that condition, you CAN reach the conclusion that it is NOT justified.

I dont know if this is right, but I find it easier to just question the premises. i.e. what does most people who play violin have to do with my band of violinists in the New york Phil? they are all experts, screw "most" other people!
