i originally put E because the stim referred to the the large number of internet users - and the capacity of those is widely assumed to rely on digitalization than printed books - I guess that assumption was too specific. On the other hand, I understand how AC C was directly referred to in the text, but I thought the impetus (driving motive) was a bit of an extreme word - considering the sentence used in the text merely said - literary agents COULD BE EXPECTED to demand..... - I did not see this as similar to the impetus for the transition to the new model.

for AC A, when I read the phrase "less likely to consider risk factors OTHER THAN credit score, I took that as, they do not consider other factors but still consider credit score. That is why I ruled out AC A, because I thought they technically still considered credit.

I think AC A confused me, because although the water remains there for the larvae to survive, I was confused with the fact that the crayfish are also still there, which would mean they would be prey to the larvae and not help to explain the fact. I think this question requires a lot of external thinking that I did not necessarily think was necessary.

I think I read the stim too fast and assumed cooperative breeding to mean normal breeding (not alongside parents), so when I read the last sentence about most of them maintained cooperative breeding on the other island, I thought that meant they began normal breeding again when moved, seeing that as beneficial. Should have looked more into the word maintained which would have told me they kept up a practice they did on the old island (cooperative breeding - not breeding alone) time crunches are hard

The wording of the question really tripped me up. After reading I had assumed the 'who volunteers to draft' was the inventor, not the engineer. This became confusing and hurt my brain

I chose D, because I thought A was wrong because it said a result of recent natural mutations, and the passage stated genetic mutations. I guess I should have been looking more into the word recent and matching that with the newly appearing substances in the passage.

@tspinnanger i think this is what gets me, when i see something that weakens EXCEPT - i automatically think of something that must strengthen, but recently a lot of the answers have been something that is just irrelevant or does not weaken or strengthen

@greygrissom486 I think I thought that AC E did not provide support because the stim says that at the 1 month mark 40% of the second group had not smoked, but AC E says that after a year 38% had no smoked, which to me described that stat went down (even only by 2%) , which means the exercise technically was not helping and that AC E did not support the argument. Clearly that was a stretch.

So for a question that asks the main point of a passage, it is indirectly asking this from the author's POV? I guess I was confused from which POV I was answering.

#6 tripped me up because when I read answer choice D, I read 'the deteriorating conditions of society' as referring to the deteriorating physical conditions, hinting at a drought, which is why I had thought it to be the most strengthening. I guess it seemed to be referring to the social conditions, though.

When answering these necessary assumption questions, would you suggest beginning with negating the answers to determine if it may be the answer, or only negating those which seem to be relevant or correct after eliminating incorrect answers?

@charlenehansen I am also struggling as to how A was wrong, and how to be able to answer these questions quickly with not choosing the reverse of the correct answer.
