Really quickly I just wanted to hop on and say thank you JY so much for creating 7sage. It was definitely the reason I was able to improve so quickly. I was working full time and studying for about two hours a day. The video lessons, explanations, and problem sets were so easy to follow and the app made fitting in lessons so easy. Congrats to everyone who took the August Flex!

I am taking the October LSAT in two weeks and am wondering how people generally spend the last few weeks of studying. My target score is 174 and my PT range has been from 170-174. I usually am either -0 or -1 on LG, -2/-3 on LR, and then RC ranges anywhere from -2 to -6. Is the best way to go about this doing full practice tests or should I just be focusing on doing RC problem sets?

Hey all,

So, I got my August results and hit about my average of 155. I am not too disappointed in this mark as I was hovering around this for a while. The area where I struggle most is LR. RC is always between -7 and -11, so I do not want to focus on this area. LG is consistently -1 to -5. LR fluctuates the most with -8 to -16. I find that even when I am confident in an answer, I still get it wrong and once it is explained on here it totally makes sense. I can't seem to wrap my brain around it. I am planning on writing again in October and November. My goal is 160, so I am not too far off, and that should be good enough seeing as I have a great AGPA.

I am thinking that I will go through my practice questions on 7Sage again. I will do them timed, do my BR, and repeat this process until something sinks in.

I am wondering if anyone has any other tricks that worked for them with LR? While 7Sage has helped me a lot, I am just looking for some suggestions on LR studying that worked for others?

Thanks in advance,

Stephan

I went from a 156 - > 158 - > 157. I have been signed up for October but thinking of withdrawing and going for Nov. or just completely giving up. I've been on a plateau for a year and my biggest issue is games and also test timing, I never have time for the last 5-7 questions. I was scoring higher this last time, but lsat flex proctor didn't know how to start the test for two hours and I thought I would end up missing the exam so I was very anxious. Will law schools take the highest score, how do I even explain this in an addendum, do I take again, will it look awful? I have a lot of questions and feel dejected.

I'm taking the Oct 3 and the deadline to push it to Nov is approaching.

My past 6 tests have averaged to a 168, (163-173-168-175-163-168). These scores are so all over the place, and with only 2.5 weeks left I'm inclined to push it to Nov to give me more time to close this gap. My goal is a 170. Any advice please?

I went from a 152 diagnostic and just got my score back and I got a 170!!! I genuinely never believed this was possible for me and was so upset and anxious so much throughout the process. Don't give up, you can do it! I worked full time this summer, and was a full time student in the spring. I started studying in March, and used 7sage to get from the 163ish mark to pt above 170. I self-studied with powerscore before 7sage. My highest pt was only a 172 though. Believe in yourself, hype yourself up, and know that YOU can do this!!!

I got my August score back today (161) and it's a full 10 points below my PTs (range 169-174, avg 171). I'm registered for October and now I'm really shaken going into it. Does anyone have any advice? I've been studying (except for a short post-test break) ever since the August test by doing PTs and writing explanations as review. I'm going to take the weekend off because I feel burnt out and upset, but I'm not sure how to optimize my studying for the last two weeks. On practice tests I usually go between -1 and -3 on LR, -1 to -3 on LG, and -3 to -5 on RC. On the August test the games threw me for some reason and since that was the first section I wasn't too confident for the rest of the test. I'm not sure if it's a burnout thing, a confidence thing, or if I have a shaky foundation that cracks under pressure..... #help #cry

Hello everyone!

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 7Sage PT Interface and the Law Hub Interface? I've taken all of my practice exams on Law Hub (in the exact interface we get on the actual test). Going forward I'm considering using 7sage's interface because you can take the exams as Flex exams (with the 3 sections) and I think that will be more helpful in simulating testing conditions for me. I just want to know all of the differences between the 2 so I am aware of them and remember them as I go.

Thank you!

Planning to take the Jan 2021 LSAT but havent even opened my book yet (had my heart set out for Nov LSAT). Within the last few months, life has literally kicked me in the stomach repeatedly. Caring for my mother's health who has been diagnosed with cancer, another family member who has been diagnosed with cancer. life is wild. I havent wanted nor had much time to study for the LSAT. anyone can give me advice or more resources for lsat prep. literally thinking about taking off another year BUT I do not want to wait until 2022 to go to law school.

possibly an accountability buddy?

hi all. i just saw my august score and to say i'm disappointed is an understatement. i've been studying full-time since april and my score was lower than any of my prep tests. it wasn't even that far off from my diagnostic.

i think what i'm most upset about is that i've spent so much time and money preparing and i feel like it's gotten me nowhere. i have no excuses for why my score was so low, especially since it wasn't my first time taking the test AND i had a good feeling about it after. i need at least 8 points higher to be considered at my law school choices, especially since my GPA is so low.

clearly i need to reevaluate my studying habits but i'm so beside myself i can't really think straight now. i'm just overwhelmed by how much i probably need to change up, defeated by the lack of progress and really anxious about whether or not i'll even be able to apply this cycle. i was signed up for october but i'm pushing it back to november now. i'd appreciate any advice/words of motivation.

Hey everyone, I just got my August LSAT score and it was a 157. I know, and knew before hand that I will be re-writing again. But just wondering if anyone has any experience or knows anyone who has been admitted in to Canadian law schools. Would a 157 and a 4.0 GPA with good softs make me a potential candidate for any schools? (I know the stats are posted on websites, but am looking for a more personal contact) Just looking for a bit of peace of mind until I can rewrite and get into the 160s

Hello everyone! So I was slightly disappointed about my LSAT score today. Although it wasn’t too far off from my average (171), I want to maximize my performance and even try to shoot higher for November (break above 173). My PTs have been a little inconsistent, my range is 168-174. How can I narrow this gap, and what strategies would be most effective to achieve my retake goals? Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone,

We’ve collected the new application requirements of T50 law schools here:

https://classic.7sage.com/admissions/lesson/application-requirements-for-top-schools/

These come straight from LSAC. We’ve added notes about how to interpret the essays. You’ll also find information about the schools’ medians and deadlines. Finally, we've added links to the full application instructions.

If you’re interested in other schools, we’ve compiled almost all requirements in a Coda doc:

https://coda.io/d/The-7Sage-Law-School-Info-Doc_daa7untIi1o/App-Requirements_sumP8#_luA_v

Good luck!

For the August flex test, I got 164 again for the second time same as the June flex. Honestly I couldn’t believe it and stared at the screen for like 5mins blinking lol. It was very disappointing because I thought I felt much more comfortable with RC and it’s usually my worst section but it doesn’t help that I can’t tell how I did on each section. Weeks approaching the test date, I was PTing around 167 -169 with some outliers. I’m seriously losing confidence in my ability to improve.. I would really appreciate to hear some of your advice / thoughts on whether it would be worth to study for 3rd take.

For some more context, I have 3.77 GPA and wish to go to T14 school (would love to go to NYU or Berkeley as I hope to go into public sector after). I’ve been working full time at a consulting firm for 3 years.

I started studying in August 2020 and ended up taking the August Flex, on the grounds that I'd take advantage of the flex format to practice and better prepare for subsequent tests with less panic associated with first-time LSAT experience, then use the score preview option for first-time takers to cancel (at that time it was uncertain whether future tests would also be flex, hence my decision to test with (1 month of studying).(/p)

I received a 164 on the August Flex and am retaking in Oct./Nov., but now I'm not so sure if I should cancel the August score.

Working under the assumption that I see an improvement in future scores (regardless of validity of such claim) and that my ultimate goal is 170+, is it better to cancel? Below would be two ideal situations (there's also the possibility that I cancel and score lower, but considering only the upside first), but I'm unsure if there is any nuanced difference in the expected return:

(1) first score canceled, second score 164+ score, done with LSAT

(2) first score 164, second score 164+, done with LSAT

So the difference would be having a 164 somewhere on my application in addition to a second score, or simply having one score I'm satisfied with and one shown as canceled.

I'm aware that Law Schools only look at the highest score, but that the more retakes there are, the less credit given by Law Schools to succeeding scores. I was wondering maybe cancelling a score would offset to an extent the impression of multiple retakes/not starting out with a higher score, or maybe this doesn't matter...

Any input would be appreciated! Thank you for your time.

I apologize if others have posted a similar question here before in regards to their own stats, but I don't have anyone to go to for advice about this, and am unsure exactly what to do.

After studying since April, I received my August FLEX score today of 167. Ironically that's exactly my 7Sage average, but in the past month I've been scoring routinely 169-172 range. I really believe that I could've scored a few extra points on LG if it wasn't for technical issues in the middle of the section that caused me to frantically go through Game 4. In other words, I believe I could score better, and I signed up for October knowing that I might have this feeling.

However, some of the schools I'm considering have 167 as above their medians, and my double-major GPA is a 3.99. Because of my GPA I was seriously looking into some of the T14s, with UVA being an absolute reach/'dream' school. I had aimed for a 167 when this was Georgetown's median, but see now that this has increased to 168. Bummer.

Regardless of this, there are many schools in the 14-30 range that are still very much desirable for me, including my undergrad, GW, which is ranked 23. I'm above the medians for each of these schools and am also very interested in them, too.

My question is this: if I was to forgo UVA in favor of submitting my applications as quickly as possible (submitting to Georgetown as the highest ranked school instead), does it even make sense for me to try the LSAT in October? I am signed up for it, but since university started I've been very busy and haven't really sat down for a practice test (I study on and off throughout the week). My greatest fear is that I somehow get lower than the 167 and it's going to ruin what is already a satisfying position now.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

Hi all, for those of you who used this tool and have gone through an application cycle, how have your percentages contested with your outcome? For example, did you see more acceptance from schools where your chances were over 50%, or more rejections where your chances were below 50%?

P.S. Please feel free to share cases when they did not match. I'm also interested in how your softs must have played out.

Thanks!

Hi! Taking both the October and November tests, and still really struggling with consistency on both RC and LR. I am looking for a tutor within the 7sage community who is willing to work with me at least 2-3 times/ week, starting as soon as possible.

Let me know!

I recently finished my second go at the LR portion of the CC. Up to this point I have been drilling untimed and by question type (PTs1-11 and 20-35). Doing this has allowed me to become more comfortable with LR. However, I am not sure what my next move should be. Should I do a timed section of LR? I have saved PTs 12-19 for section drills, just not sure if I am ready for that yet. How do you track your improvement on timed sections? Do you use data from timed sections to go back to drill by question type? I would really appreciate any insight.
