So I'm planning on taking the July test, but I'm getting so nervous!!! My goal score is around a 169 and about a month ago I was able to hit it but unfortunately, I haven't hit it since and have been averaging around a 163-164. The past month I've had a pretty bad apartment move, so I've been wildly stressed out and my mind hasn't been totally focused, which is what I'm hoping has been the reason for not hitting my goal score. When I do individual timed sections, I'm seeing the scores reflect exactly where I want to be, but when I take a PT my scores drop. Should I chance it and hope that my test day focus and knowledge of the content pulls through, or should I push to October? (August doesn't seem possible with my work schedule) I'm also worried that the test I scored a 169 on was just super compatible with my skill set and not reflective of an average PT. Any thoughts?

By the way, good luck to everyone taking July :)

Hey , so I finished the 7Sage course and took my first practice test on Sunday and scored 139 in real time and 152 in Blind Review. I’m writing the August LSAT and want to get in the mid to high 150’s but I’m not sure exactly what I need to do to effectively improve my score. Please help! Open to any advice.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking to do the October or November test. I've taken some months off but am looking to get back into studying. Since the pandemic is unlikely to go away, these tests in fall will probably be the take at home test I've heard about. Can anyone bring me up to speed on the LSAT-Flex? 3 sections only, correct? Do I just take practice tests as normal?

I am not sure if I am posting this to the right place, but I have a few questions about admissions I would like help with. My plan is to take the LSAT in August and immediately after, start preparing materials for admissions. If my score is not where I want it, then I will retake the test in October. Do I have enough time for the admissions process if I start after the August test?

Hello 7sagers!

I recently completed Mike Kim's LSAT Trainer and my question is how should I continue preparing for the LSAT? I want to begin drilling problem sets, as I cannot fully complete sections under time constraints yet. I would like to know what would be the best course of action - Should I drill practice problems from the LSAT Trainer & begin my CC of 7sage as well? I have been studying the exam for 5 weeks, so I only have a very broad understanding of the exam currently, any advice would be most appreciated!

Hey guys,

I've got a question for anybody who has made some significant increases in their scores. Previously, i thought taking pts and doing extensive BR would lead to consistent score increases alone. Now that i'm 4 pts in, and have only stayed in the 157-159 territory, i'm wondering if there's more virtue in spending days drilling instead?

Looking for perspectives because i was originally planning on taking august, but might be considering October instead. really hoping to be in the high 160s/low 170s.

What do you guys think helped you the most in your prep when you were around these scores? problem sets and drills or full practices tests with extensive BR? Thank you in advance!

Hi!

I was working on LR and had a little problem with the expression "all that is required to do A is B"

So if we were to diagram this in conditional language, would B be sufficient for A or would it be necessary?

Maybe it's biconditional? I'm not sure.

It's just messing with my head and any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Just curious how others are approaching this final week or so. Are you taking more PT's? Just doing sections? Or are you taking your foot off the gas a little bit to ensure you are fresh for the real thing?

I'm curious because I was drilling PT's pretty intensely and I could feel myself getting burnt out. I've started doing a section or two a day and that is a little better, but I wonder if even that is too much. I just really don't want to be mentally exhausted for the test.

Thanks for your input and help!

Hi everyone, I have a question that I would really like some input on from fellow members on here. I started studying for the lsat in the beginning of December with PowerScore books and did that for about two and half months with a few practice sections scattered in that time as well. I realized towards the end of February that I was not getting anywhere so I signed up for 7 sage and took the diagnostic which I scored a 142 on. I went through the cc pretty meticulously, read the loophole, and foolproofed games 1-35. I took my first post cc pt on the 1st of July and scored a 152, and then tonight I hit 160 with a Br score of 167. I went -12 total in LR, -6 in RC, and -8 in LG. My goal score is a 165. The deadline to sign up for August is the 15th so I kind of need to decide if I should attempt that test date soon. My other option is October. I guess I am wondering if you guys think I’m better off just registering for October giving myself lots of time, or trying to push even harder than I have been the next month and a half to be able to get a score and applications in sooner, of course if I get my desired score. I also would welcome any advice on what to do for LG, I foolproofed 1-35 but still can’t seem to get to -3 range. Thanks in advance for the responses!

Hi, I am scoring in the low 160s looking to get a 175+. I am currently working full time but am willing to take as long as it takes to get the score I want. However, I would like to get there, if possible, for this admission cycle. I am missing an average of -5 per section with some sections getting -3 sometimes but not consistently low in any one section. But have only taken like 3-4 prep-tests.

Any Advice? Looking for someone who can help me understand how to make the jump. Any study plan advice?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I am currently at the exact 50% mark of the core curriculum, which is right in the middle of the NA problem sets, and I have a test date booked for August. I am wondering if it is most beneficial to finish the core curriculum before starting PTs (I have only done one full test, the diagnostic, thus far). Thanks for your opinion!

Hey everyone, I'm looking for one to four highly motivated people to form a small study group with in preparation for the August 2020 LSAT! Motivate each other, study together, and really focus. Right now my PTs range from 168-172, trying to consistently score in mid 170s. Currently studying around 4-6 hours/day but will likely increase that time now that it's July. If you have similar goals, please let me know! I want to BR 2+ PTs per week; or if not that, at least be able to talk through specific LR questions. Also, I'm on the east coast so it would be great if you are EST also!

Hey guys! I graduated college/uni in 2017 (based in Vancouver, Canada) and am currently preparing for the LSAT. I'm planning to sit for the exam in October and would love to have an online/WhatsApp/iMessage/Fb/ANYTHING study group. Let me know if you're in!

Are you taking the full practice test or just the 3 flex sections and using the converter tool?

Some people have indicated that their score went down when the did the flex version. Has anyone experienced this?

I recently completed the core curriculum and decided to take PT 36 completely untimed. I scored a 172, and although I know this is not indicative how I will perform under actual testing conditions, does anyone have tips on how to improve timing? I am aiming to hit the 170+ range timed by the end of August (not sure if this is reasonable).

Greetings everyone,

For those who have taken the LSAT or plan to take the LSAT in August, I'm around 65% into the curriculum starting In/Out and grouping games then reading comp. then PT's... Should I start a few PT's now even though I am a couple weeks away from finishing LG and reading comp?

Also if anyone wants to drop tips from the Flex test that would be super helpful, I've heard some common issues in different threads.

Hi everyone, it’s my first month of learning on 7Sage, so haven’t fully grasped all the numbers!

Just noticed there are scores above the ACs on LR questions. For example, the curve of the Q was from 125-140, but the numbers above the ACs ranged from 155 to 165. Does that mean that, for example, someone who picks AC B on average scores 162? Then, what’s the point of The Curve?

Thanks!

I'm currently drilling weakening question types and they're honestly giving me a really hard time. I feel confident about my task: find something that weakens the support between the premise and conclusion. I have found that really understanding the stimulus before going to the answer choices has helped me a lot. However, I am starting to notice that anticipating a possible way to weaken the stimulus is really hurting me. There have been times when I have been able to correctly anticipate the answer choice. On the other hand, when I run into a question where my anticipation isn't one of the answer choices I end up getting the wrong answer. In said situations, I have noticed that I am so fixed on the answer choice that I anticipated that I end up not liking any of the answer choices. I read through each of them and end up making assumptions that lead me to believe that none of the answer choices would work. I'm not sure how to approach this issue. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

I am an international student (from India) studying at USC. There are new ICE guidelines regarding F-1 visa holders, which may bar me from entering the country in the next month. Since, I need to register for the August LSAT in the next week, does anyone know if I can register for the US region but then take the LSAT flex from India (if I am unable to enter the country for the fall semester)? This is assuming they decide to conduct the August LSAT remotely as well.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had advice for how to improve focus/attention span for long periods of time. Sometimes during PTs I find myself having to read a question 3 times to finally focus and understand what it is saying, which is a huge waste of time. I feel like it was easier to get immersed into activities when I was younger, and now my attention span is floundering!

I exercise about 4 times a week, and have started to cut back on my phone apps that might shorten my attention span (rip tik tok and twitter). Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

Some extra info: My last PT was a 167 but I'm hoping to break 170 for the August test. I'm scheduled to take 16 more PTs before my actual exam (do you think breaking 170 in this time is possible?)

thanks!
