Seeing LORs

After waiving right of access to LORs, has anyone asked to see their LORs? Is this considered an appropriate course of action? If yes, what’s the appropriate way to go about it?

If your recommenders didn’t offer, it might be best not to ask. The downside would seem to be limited to offending your recommenders though and shouldn’t affect your apps. I hear it’s pretty rare for schools to call recommenders and it’s unlikely you’d offend them to the degree that they’d rescind their letter or bad mouth you.

When I asked my recommenders to send in a LOR, I asked them if they would mind sending me a copy for my files as well. One of them did, 2 of them didn't. I didn't press it, because you want them to be comfortable and not offend anyone. You just have to trust them to write a good letter.
