I second @spitzy11 for the admissionsconsulting. I'm not using the comprehensive option (I wish I could) but I'm using it for the personal statement and so far it's amazing.

I would say probably no, but you will more than likely have to disclose it. Highly recommend the 7sageadmissions course, it's just $10 and has great advice on how to write these.
