I was able to send the link to my recommender and he was able to submit it BEFORE I purchased the CAS. I think ultimately LSAC will just not share the information with schools until you pay for the service.

Does anyone know if my college letters of rec can sit in my CAS account if I take 2 years off between college and applying to law school, and if they need to be updated by the professors when i eventually do apply?
Would someone be willing to help me understand how to submit your transcript to CAS? On LSAC do you simply add the institution you attended? Or do you have to request it some other way? Any help would be much appreciated! :)
