I think it's best to wait till the end of the CC to take a practice test, because then you can truly pinpoint your weakness. Starting out, a PT a week should be fine, the max should be two. -

I do a prep test every 2-3 days after work, and find I get the same score (or better) than in the AM on the weekends. As long as it's not a drastically different or skewed mark I'm sure it's fine! -

You could also take a timed PT after your completion of CC to have an idea of where you are at, and make a decision based on that score.
