If you want to imagine the future, do so. Use that to your advantage. Imagine where you'll be 5+ years from now if you bust your butt studying for the LSAT and get into a topschool.

Plenty of us here have done exactly what you're planning. A buddy of mine took the LSAT last fall, was accepted to his topschool, then delayed further to intern.
Taking another year or two off should be fine.
Also, to @combsni .. 1 year out of university (but currently working 3 jobs). Definitely feeling the time pressure, but I know that it'll be worth it if I can score the extra little bit. I won't settle for anything less than a topschool.
