I try really, really hard to never use headphones. I just have the proctorapp on really quietly, so I can just hear it. I feel like getting used to headphones will be a detriment.

You can just stimulate practice tests for the timing and use the 7sage proctorapp. I don't think it's beneficial to use an official take as a practice take even if it's 'unlimited' now.
I don't listen to anything because it's too distracting. Some people say that classical music (no lyrics) helps them. If I'm in a coffee shop or somewhere not very quiet, I'll listen to a whitenoise track on my phone.
Headspace is a great start! Highly recommend it. My head's always racing with irrelevant thoughts but ever since I started using the app, I find it to be a much calmer place. Good luck! :)
I'm pretty sure the proctorapp's clock is sped up. I always set the app to 33 minutes and it always calls time when my real analog watch hits the 33-minute mark.
