Signal Fires

Use conditional rules to work out which signal fires must be lit. A game to practice chaining "if," "only if," and "unless."

About this game

Many LSAT questions come down to one skill: taking a fact, running it through a set of conditional rules, and knowing what must be true, what cannot be true, and what is still open. This game trains that skill, including the part students skip: recognizing when a rule proves nothing.

How it works. Each night starts with one known fire and one to four rules written with "if," "only if," "unless," "without," "either/or," and "not both." Mark every other fire lit, unlit, or can't tell, then submit. Only a night with every mark right scores.
