Does anyone know if we need an essay sample to know the score on 7/30? From what I searched, though it says it is required for score disclosure on the official LSAC site, there was also a statement somewhere that says the policy for requirement will be re-enacted for August lsat. Does that mean I dont need one to know my July score on the 30th?

As far as I know, you don’t need one to know your score, BUT the schools won’t see the score (or won’t look at the application) until they have both the score and the writing sample on file.

    Oh okay. thanks for confirming!

@cubsfanwcg594 I have a feeling that unless you have accommodations that grant you this you will not be allowed to use any kind of ear "wear"--you are literally told to remove any large jewelry and show your ears to the webcam so they can see there is nothing in/on them. Also, at no point did I actually hear my proctor so that was not an issue (you can type your responses).

    Looking for clarification on this:

Due to my home's poor internet (it drops out every 15-20 minutes) I'm using one of my univeristy's private group study rooms in the library for the test. I've been studying here for a few weeks leading up to the test and due to covid there are maybe 5 people in the library at a time. Should this be an issue? The study rooms are tucked away in a corner of the library and I've seen no one by them or in them so far.

Does anyone (June Flex takers, maybe) know if an earbuds mic is acceptable? The internal mic on my computer doesn't work, and I'm wanting to confirm that having earbuds in, at least at the beginning to talk to the proctor, will be okay.

@ianpjohnson405 They can't see what you are writing based on webcam angle, nor do they really care. You show them yourself ripping up your scratch paper at the end of the exam, with the presumption that you will then throw away that paper. I think the only security concern would be if someone tried to transcribe questions on their scratch paper and leak them, which would obviously get a score invalidated.

what about the writing? do you still have a year to complete it or do you have do it the same day you give flex ? any ideas?

Does anyone know how they can see what we're writing on our scratch paper? Not beforehand when they ask to look at our blank sheets, but during the exam while we're working anything out? Isn't the camera focused on our faces?

    Wireless Mouse

Has anyone used or been told they could not use a wireless mouse (or a regular plug in mouse for that matter)? Thanks for the help.

I used a bluetooth mouse and it was fine. I'd imagine a plug in will be fine too - since you're allowed to use a desktop computer a mouse of any kind should be permitted

I have the same question about a plug in mouse? My Mac wasn't easy to scroll in practicing in Lawhub.

How early should we log on to proctor u? 10 minutes? 20 minutes? 6 hours just to be safe?

And it's just the desk that needs to be clear, right? Anything like bookshelves in the background shouldn't be an issue, right?

@1305337211qq6 pen/mechanic pencil is not allowed. If your laptop/computer already has a built-in camera that should work without needing a separate webcam. Check your gear through ProctorU beforehand!

hey anyone know if we're allowed to use a pen/mechanic pencil? Is a separate web cam necessary? Do i need to do any prep work for my room? Thanks!

@caressatsai113 Pretty sure I read in the FAQ that it is not allowed. But I would check to make sure.

Anyone know if the scratch paper needs to be blank or can it be ruled/lined?

Does anyone know if we are allowed to use dual monitors? I was going to take the test on my small laptop but it's harder to read and navigate than I expected.

I signed up for the July Flex after they announced that it was Flex, but the registration still required me to put in a testing center. Am I automatically registered for Flex or do I need to opt in? I haven't received any communications from LSAC.

So did you find out if there is anything further that should be done? I am in the same boat but for August.

@christinaparchem604 can't agree more. I was honestly surprised at the time window they offered us.

@vivydiamond681 Good luck! Let us know how it goes for you! I'm also KST and was only given the option of time slots between 6PM and 6AM regardless of how quickly I was able to reserve a time. Ended up with 6AM which I honestly don't mind, but I'm disappointed they didn't take international time zones into account when assigning when a person could schedule...

@vivydiamond681 So I signed up last night around 1AM and I was able to sign up for the 6PM slot. I read in another online forum that the slots ran out pretty quickly though.

Thanks for letting me know! I think there was a problem with my account so ProctorU are trying to find me a better time-slot to take the test!
