Chose D. I now know it is wrong since I translated it in lawgic the other way around. I assumed it was can participate --> one year or more than one year when it is actually graphed one year or more --> can participate the all in the beginning is a bit confusing. So you really have to parse out the language to understand it and graph it correctly.
unfortunately this one took me over the desired time (i did it in 2:49), but i'm really glad that I was able to work thought it and get the correct answer. A pretty good start I would say :)
Potential Tip for others, in case you haven't used this already: I use the "Find Text" to find key words that flag the similarity for these parallel reasoning questions. Example, for PT135.S4.Q24 I searched for "also", which is found in the problem statement, and in only one of the answers, leading to selecting that one and move on. Hope this helps!
@Veronic I believe so - I am doing the RC core curriculum right now and the function is available in the RC section(s), so I would think it's also going to be available in the LC sections
@Jessievitarelli You're probably already diagramming in your head. If you already have that skill, there's no reason to put it on paper. Speed is the name of the game here :).
I have gotten every question right, but I am struggling with doing shallow dip so it's taking me 5 minutes per answer and that's just not going to cut it.
I keep getting the answers right... the most right answers in a row so far in LR, but all the questions take me 5 minutes. If I can learn to do this quickly, then it might be my good luck charm during the test.
if Paleo --> know publications of all other paleo (if A, then B)
prof M acquainted with publications of one paleo (let's be very charitable and say this is equal to B)
conclusion: prof M must be paleo (therefore A)
flaw: sufficiency-neccessity confusion (satisfying the necessary condition B doesn't allow us to conclude that the sufficient condition A is met. and that's with our very charitable interpretation of the second premise.
Deep dive of answer choices: (for practice)
A)
if flight delayed --> all connecting flights delayed (if A, then B)
Frieda's connecting flight was delayed (let's be very charitable and say this is equal to B)
conclusion: Frieda's first flight must have been delayed (therefore A)
flaw; sufficiency-necessity confusion.
matches the stimulus!
B)
if agent misses shift --> others work harder (if A, then B)
no missed shifts (not A)
conclusion: other did not work harder (not B)
flaw: negating the sufficient condition does not allow us to negate the necessary condition
does not match the stimulus
C)
if fuel price decreases --> airline expenses decrease and income is same (if A, then B and C)
fuel price decreased (A)
conclusion: airline must have made a profit (thefore E)
flaw: conclusion does not follow from the premises. lower expensives and the same income does not necessarily mean the airline made a profit - they could still be in the red
does not match the stimulus
D)
if employee and 1+ year --> can participate in plan (if A and B, then C)
gavin satisfies employee and 1+ year (A and B)
conclusion: gavin participates in plan
flaw: gavin canparticipate in the plan, but we can't say for sure that he does
does not match the stimulus
E)
if comp reduces fares --> global must reduce fares or lose passengers (if A, then B or C)
global carried more passengers than last year, aka did not lose passengers (not C)
conclusion: global must have reduced its fares last year in response to comp (therefore B bcs A)
flaw: we don't know if the sufficient condition for reducing fares was triggered. In other words, we don't know if competitors reduced their fares. All we know is that global didn't lose passengers, so either they reduced their fares OR they didn't have to
I did not even realize it was a flaw question because I was going too fast, but I still got it right because the other 4 answers were easily removed doing shallow dip.

YAYA GOT IT RIGHT!!

I got a level 3 wrong but a level 5 what?!?
It took me a bit, but it was clearly A. The other ACs were waaaay off.
that's not not level 5... i was freaking out
that is not a level 5 it was easy 😭
I read A and immediately chose it and pressed submit
@Sabercat48 I need your confidence
"does that mean it didn't lose passenger? it didn't lose passenger?" lol

@Annette_M_Rivera Do you know if we can use this function during test day?
@Veronic I believe so - I am doing the RC core curriculum right now and the function is available in the RC section(s), so I would think it's also going to be available in the LC sections
not to toot my own horn, but got this level 5 difficulty question right in 40 secs... TOOT TOOT bruh
I have gotten every single question right without having to diagram. Should I still be diagramming?
@Jessievitarelli You're probably already diagramming in your head. If you already have that skill, there's no reason to put it on paper. Speed is the name of the game here :).
I GOT ONE I GOT ONE RAAAA
I have gotten every question right, but I am struggling with doing shallow dip so it's taking me 5 minutes per answer and that's just not going to cut it.
@tsandin no literally these are taking me forever!
@MJthelawya I am still struggling lol
@tsandin Same. I've gotten them all right, but I am way over time. Sigh.

So far I am getting them all right, but I keep taking 3 minutes. Hopefully through time, I can lower it.

@AudreyGilmour this was extremely helpful!
@IrelandCrabtree yay happy to hear :)
I did not even realize it was a flaw question because I was going too fast, but I still got it right because the other 4 answers were easily removed doing shallow dip.
@ThePaladinOfChedder I did the same! Eliminated all the others and got back to A.
took me 10 mins but got it right lol
I got it right but i'm 20 seconds over time am i cooked
this was the hardest difficulty?
I've gotten every question wrong. This isn't clinking for me
Humbled. As always, it is always the small things with the LSAT test makers.
Ugh, right after I take the advice of starting at the bottom.
LETS GOOOO first one I've gotten right in this section
