@Kevin_Lin I think this passage has been used before in the curriculum! don't recall exactly when, but i remember hearing JY go through this one. another user identified it as from here: https://7sage.com/lesson/identifying-different-perspectives-and-tracking-author-opinion/?ss_completed_lesson=32242
"I look at this now and I just think 'this is pure buffoonery'" i'm loling watching this
i've never even heard about this, how did you find out about this possibility??
that imovie-esque explosion of the argument at the end made me smile lol
#feedback it would be helpful if question type identifier drilling / correct diagramming drilling were available tools accessible in the main hub of 7sage rather than limited instances of exercises within the core curriculum
@KayleeMurray They're probably referring to the fact that, throughout the curriculum, whenever there was a video explanation for a problem, there was usually a summary of the premises and conclusion, understood as P -> C (premise leads to conclusion), as the most specific form of whatever rule you would be looking for in the answer choices.
they say that the deterrence may "have a great benefit," and, even though they also say we appear to sense it is "intuitively wrong," they attribute this to belonging to the second school of thought on punishment. the whole passage is already doing an analysis of peoples' instincts towards justice. how is "something leads us to say xyz" support that the author actually thinks that themselves, rather than just commenting on the nature of the popular rationale that they've already been writing about for the rest of the passage?
