I feel like the old UI was fine, the "hide" button was right next to the answers, the timer had a little bar, there was not really a sub-menu. Idk, its annoying to hit the hide "mode" and then have to click on the answers. And then I forget that i have it on and waste a few second. Not the end of the world, but its annoying.

It definitely costs us time, which is SO crucial on the test. Even a second can make a difference. Bummer.

  • This new UI is made by the same people who think adding enough icons and buttons to blot out the sun in video games is a good idea

It's cleaner but less intuitive to use, which could be an LSAC decision to rein in higher scoring potentially through obfuscation (I'm not a conspiracy theorist normally but what else could explain making perfectly fine aspects slightly more convoluted, like changing text sizing)

Rant about the hide answer button: why should it require me to activate the button, mask the answer (that also cannot be a selected answer, so you have to unselect your chosen answer to mask said answer), and then reselect that same button to then actually choose an answer normally again, otherwise you'll mask the answer you intended to select. The previous version eliminated all this with a hide button tied directly to the answers.

yes I hate it so much I found this thread by looking up how to change it back to the old UI (someone please tell me this is possible)

@SarafinaJean I completely understand the adjustment can be frustrating! I'm afraid switching back to the old interface is no longer an option. We updated the tester to mirror the new LSAC digital interface that will be used for the August 2026 LSAT and beyond, so practicing on it now is the best way to get comfortable before test day.

If you'd like to see the exact interface you'll encounter on the real exam, you can also check it out directly on your LawHub account; it matches what we have on 7Sage.

@Mary Where can we find this on our LawHub account? Trying to find it but it looks the same there as it used to for me!

@Mary, it looks like we missed an introductory conversation that would prepare us for that sudden and drastic switch. It would have saved a lot of frustration. Thank you for your follow-ups now.

@baileymaranagurr You can also find it on your LSAT prep page (on the LawHub site) and start any PrepTest. Once you tap New Test, a pop-up will appear, and you just need to tap August 2026 or After.

  • The new UI makes me sad, it's not as warm as the old one.

I now request all videos to be redone in the new format

  • I prefer the visual of the new interface but miss the ease and functionality of the old. The biggest critique I have, similar to you, is that they need to make the hide button more visible again. I'm wasting PRECIOUS seconds clicking and unclicking buttons to hide and unhide answer choices

The appearance looks more up to date, but I appreciated the old functionality more than this new, "clean look."

It's not the best to be honest, but it is what it is...

  • How do you find the hide button in the new update?

@DistinctZealousHealth For the new digital tester, the answer elimination feature works a little differently. While you're taking a test, click the eye icon first located on the right side, then click the answer choice you want to eliminate. The elimination controls are hidden until the eye icon is activated.

@Mary This visual illustration really helps. On my first day, I tried this cross button, but it did not work for me. I can only guess that I used the wrong sequence in the process.

It's terrible. Way too busy and yes the "hide" button is the worst feature.

Guys, how were you able to select an AC?I was struggling with the button. Each time I select an AC, it crossed the choice instead.

The "update" is terrible. I wasted a lot of time looking for the hide button. Totally not helpful.

@KatiaMiles where did you find the hide button? I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

@DistinctZealousHealth Look on the right side with the other tools. I forget what it looks like because I refuse to have to click on an extra button and then click it again to return to the regular cursor.

@DistinctZealousHealth Heh... I was looking for it, but never found the hide button. Thanks for insisting on the question - I see that we have the "cross" button now!

  • Took a bit of getting used to, and it's definitely a downgrade, but it is what it is.

  • is the new version what is going to be used for the upcoming august LSAT? I keep changing over to the new one for practice

@NeelyDetwiler wait where do you change 7sage drills to match the LSAT appearance?

@Ripley1979 They've already adjusted the settings to not provide you with an option given that it's what the new format is.

Agreed, though I a bit confused with the 7sage interface vs the lawhub one. Since in lawhub you just click the overall answer box to X it whereas in 7sage I have to move my mouse all the way over to the letter. I hope 7sage fixes this since as others said, it is wasting time.

Is this new UI based on a new real-life LSAT UI?

@PrincessDi Apparently it's still being finalized for the June release: https://www.lsac.org/blog/update-new-lsat-user-interface-2026-2027-testing-cycle

@EllieBBBB I just highlight part of it when its wrong, but having the hide button back would be nice.

That's the worst part of it for me, the "hide" button change....I didn't practice too much in the old interface except when doing the lesson plans and loved that it was right next to it, and I used it pretty regularly.

When I started in the new one, I kept doing the same thing, flipping it on and off to use, and then forgetting you have it on/wasting time. It's annoying and every second is valuable!

So I started practicing basically without it, unless having an "EXCEPT" question, where I'll turn it on for answer elimination. I think if you're doing any question where you know you are going to approach answers with POE, turn it on right away and then you'll get practice only having to hopefully turn it on/off once, thus saving the little bits of time.

  • I don't recall getting any communication about the change and I don't know if the features are working correctly. I can't seem to hide incorrect answer choices even when I try the toggle.

Every single person I've spoken to doesn't like the change.

One of my friends even emailed them to complain and they sent a response explaining the changes. LSAC claims that the new "hide" function is built like it is "due to the underlying structure of the new test driver platform" ... not that I know much about coding but that feels like an excuse.

My friends have also theorized that this is LSAC's strategy to combat score inflation.

You're not alone in thinking it's annoying, if it's any consolation. Unfortunately it's just another thing to manage when dealing with the test :/
