Hi, I'm not sure if anyone has ever experience this before, but is it possible to defer law school by a year and during that one-year deferral, apply for JD/MBA? I was supposed to attend Penn Law this coming fall, but I'm thinking of deferring and applying for MBA during my one-year deferral (goal is to do 3 year JD/MBA program)...if anyone has any input, that would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi all. I just signed up and entered my answers for a test I had already completed on Lawhub. I then went through that full test again on Lawhub, blind review style. How do I enter my blind review results? Currently it just says my blind is the same as my score. Thanks for the help!

Started off the test with the proctorU persons password not working and didn’t get the password for 40 min so I just sat there. Then the session disconnected 2x during the actual test and had to reshow all my stuff and go through that process again. I’m worried if I should cancel my score BC I don’t feel very good about it, or just suck it up bc I’m prob only taking it 2 more times anyways...thoughts?

Has anyone taken a flex test on an iPad? I’m sitting the August test and have heard of some issues with MacBook Air. I’ve never experienced any issues with digital PT’s on the iPad and am mostly worried about a slow down with ProctorU.

Thank you!

Dear fellow 7Sagers,

I've taken the LSAT three times now. I took it cold in 2017 June (PT 81) without every seeing an LSAT material and got a 151 (stupid, I know). I never touched the LSAT again until 2020 where I took it in May (169) and in June (171). However, these are below my PT average of 173. My section averages can be RC -1 to -3, LR -1 to -3, and LG -0.

The problem that I've noticed in the LSAT is struggling in section while doing great in the other two. In May, I felt like I aced the RC and LG but then in the LR, I somehow forgot how to read and had 8 flags before time ran out. In June, I felt like I killed LG and LR but was completely destroyed by the prescriptive vs descriptive and especially the sunken ships passages in the RC.

My question is that how can I ensure that I am able to perform in all sections regardless of difficulty? I usually don't run into this issue in my PTs. Is this a common issue during a take? I've done almost every PT above 50 and drilled 10-49 during the CC and warm-up drills.

I'm taking the August Flex for my 4th time in order to hit my average or above. Thank you for your time.

I'm currently scheduled to take the Flex on Tuesday and had a question about the highlight function. I've been practicing reading comp passages without highlighting after reading stories about what a disaster it is to use on the digital LSAT. However, I tried using the highlighter on one of the practice exams posted on LawHub and it seems to be working fine (using Chrome on a Mac). Has anyone tried using the feature on the actual Flex and know how reliable it is/whether I should attempt to use it when I take the test?

Thanks in advance!!

So I have a PC, and with no built in microphone. What I'm wondering is if I'm able to use my headphones(Arctis5) to speak with the proctor and then just put it down during the test? How much do I really need to speak with the proctor during the test? And do they tell me stuff through voicechat? Or can it be done by chatting? Thanks.

First time posting here, I just bought the 7Sage Course. So I started prepping for the LSAT two months ago using the LSAT Trainer, and I noticed after my 4th PT test that my score hasn't changed much at all--it went from 151 to 155 to 156 to 153 today. But, I blind review'ed my LR section today and scored a -1 while in the realtime test I scored -9 for that section. Does this mean I improved? Why is it that during real time tests, I am performing so much worse? Is a two-month time period too short to expect improvement?

I'm feeling rather lost and down--I'd appreciate any tips or insights you guys can share...Thanks guys.

Any tips for getting faster at R.C? I've been stuck with only getting through 2/4 passages for a few months now. I started reading the Economist, and it's helped, but I still feel like there's something that's holding me back from getting through this section.

Help!! I would like to withdraw from the July LSAT-Flex today this weekend, but there is no button available on the LSAC website account to do so, and the LSAC website says that withdrawing is permissible up until 11:59 PM EST the night before the test (July 11).

I understand this is terribly irresponsible and I should not be doing so this late but I wanted to ask if there was a way to withdraw?? The LSAC website doesn't have a button available under "eligible to withdraw" and I sent them an email but they probably won't respond because it's Friday night.

Should I withdraw on Proctor U?

I'm getting worried because there's still not admissions ticket posted to my LSAC account and I'm scheduled for the July test at 1150 on Sunday. Should I be worried, or is it normally posted the day before? I read the LSAT Flex tips on LSACs website and it said you have to hold up the ticket: did this change and I'm not supposed to get one? Just want to know for sure so that if I need to start calling LSAC I can do it first thing tomorrow morning.

I started taking PT's and my scores fell into the high 150 range. I got a 157, 158, 159 and a 156 respectively. Frustrated that I couldnt get a 160 I changed the way I studied and felt like it would have helped. I took a week off, came back and got a 155 on a PT. After that I reviewed my test and took another one. Today I got a 152. My lowest ever. Unsure of what to do and very lost.

Would anyone here recommend a commercial prep course like Blueprint? I'm currently stuck averaging 150, but I've only taken 9 PT's. I would like to end up scoring in the high 160's by the end of this year. I've had some pretty unhelpful and costly experiences with some other tutoring companies in the past, so I'm really only looking for the best option at this point.

Announcement from LSAC:

  • The August 29 LSAT will be Flex (USA, Canada)
  • LSAT-Flex will be administered starting Saturday, August 29 through Friday, September 4. Most test takers will test on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, with a small number of tests occurring later in the week.
  • Test takers will be able to choose the time that works best for their schedules from the available options on one or more days, which are determined by the remote proctoring requirements. LSAC recommends that test takers sign up as early as possible, as slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Sign up will begin at 12 noon Eastern Time, Thursday, August 13. Every August registrant will receive an email at that time with detailed instructions to guide them through the scheduling process.
  • For the August test, score preview will cost $45 for candidates who sign up before 11:59 p.m. ET on August 28, or $75 for candidates who sign up after testing has concluded. (Please note: First-time test takers who have an approved LSAT fee waiver will receive the score preview free of charge.)
  • LSAC will now allow test takers to use a regular or mechanical pencil, or a pen, while taking the LSAT-Flex. Test takers will still need to show their writing utensil(s) to the proctor during the check-in period.
  • Test takers may also use soft, non-electronic, non-corded/banded, generic foam ear plugs, which will need to be shown to and approved by their LSAT-Flex proctor.
  • Expected score release date is Friday, September 18.
  • Test is undisclosed.
  • More information about the score preview option can be found here.

Hello, I’ve taken all the PT’s in the 70’s and 80’s except for 89. I’m wondering if it would be beneficial to take PT89 before the upcoming LSAT this week or if I should save it to use for later if/when I begin studying for the August LSAT. On one hand, I want to be as up to date with the most recent material as possible. But at the same time, I don’t want to burn through my last “new” PT if I do end up studying for August. What are your thoughts?

    Hey 7sagers,

I'm back again to ask for the advice of members of the community who PT 170+ . What is your mindset in approaching studying, correcting mistakes, habits & routines, etc..? I believe that your mindset is often an overlooked idea, but it has significant advantages when applied correctly. I just want to understand the thought processes that are behind what top scorers are considering in various aspects of this exam. I appreciate the help as always and look forward to your responses!

I registered for the July exam and thought I would have until midnight tonight to withdraw. I had attempted to do so a few days ago to no avail, so I emailed LSAC. I never received a response. I kept trying via the LSAC website and was unsuccessful. I then learned that I only had until July 3rd to withdraw. So, I logged onto ProctorU to schedule a slot, but couldn't get one. Spoke with a customer service rep who told me that all the slots are filled and that I should contact LSAC for assistance. They wont be back into the office again until Monday.

So, I can't withdraw but I also can't register for a test. Not registering shows up as an absence. Between that and a canceled/mediocre score I'd take the latter.

Does anyone have any additional information? What should I do?

If you know a tutor or have any study approaches that helped you please let me know especially if you started low as -13. Any guidance would be helpful. I've tried 7sage, PS, & trainer. I try reading for structure and review all RC passages through 7sage. Somedays I'm at 20/27 (twice) timed and most other days I'm at an average of -13. I think the days where I hit 21 or 20 are merely flukes. Untimed I'm typically 23-24.

    Thank you.

LSAC announced that for first time takers, you can purchase the option to see your score before deciding whether you want to cancel.

    Full text of announcement:

In response to requests and feedback from test takers, we have created a new score preview option for first-time test takers who wish to see their score before deciding whether or not to keep it as part of their LSAC transcript and report it to schools. Score preview will cost $45 for candidates who sign up prior to the first day of testing for a given test administration, or candidates may sign up during a specified time period after testing has concluded for $75. First-time test takers who sign up for score preview will receive their scores at the same time other test takers receive theirs, (assuming they have completed their LSAT Writing and have no holds on their accounts), and will have six (6) calendar days to decide if they want to cancel or keep their score. If they take no action their scores will be added to their LSAC file and released to schools at the end of the six-day period. This feature will be available for purchase starting around August 1.

Note: First-time test takers who have an approved LSAT fee waiver will receive score preview free of charge. In 2019, LSAC approved 7,939 candidates for fee waivers. Because there were 71,515 first-time test takers in the 2019-2020 testing cycle, that means 11.1% of those first time test takers would have automatically received the free score preview.

You can learn more about the score preview option at our website: https://www.lsac.org/lsat/taking-lsat/lsat-scoring/about-score-preview

    Hi all,

I have some troubles in negating the following:

  • Head injury is too trivial to ignore.
  • Head injury is too trivial not to ignore.
  • I am not very sure whether I should negate "too" or, rather, "to" in the above sentences.

    Thanks very much,

    Leon

I plan on taking the LSAT in October, so I’m not sure if they will still be doing LSAT Flex by then, but I am worried about taking the exam digitally. On the LSAC website where you can take practice tests the highlighting tools do not work for me. So I’m worried about not being able to annotate when I take the real thing. Has this been a problem for people, or is annotating easy to do on the LSAT flex/the digital one if anyone has taken it?
