hi guys,

anybody here completed their August-Flex?

I just did mine yesterday. Hope everybody's went exactly how they wanted it to, and good luck to those who have not yet!

HI all,

My friend has been pushing me to take this test this year. She went to T14 so her words carry some weight but I feel conflicted. !f you could share some of your thoughts it will be greatly appreciated!

Quick history of my preparation:

I studied LR for 3 months and I am at -8 to -12.

I studied LG for 3 months and I am at -4 to -0

However, I have not taken a single RC section. I have read all RC passages from PT1 to PT35 and watched all JY's explanation videos for these but my reading time for passages is anywhere from 4 to 6 minutes with comprehension level of 3 out of 5. It's not where it needs to be for me to do well in this section imo.

Also, my stamina is not that great. After doing LR translations for 3 sections I am fried.

I can't imagine taking additional LG and RC section on top of this during the real LSAT.

My goal score is 164+ Here's the dilemma:

If I take the 3-section Flex (November) I can take advantage of the shorter test but I wont be ready.

If I take the 5-section 'Real' (sometime next year) I plan on studying for 6 more months but I know I wont be able to perform as well because my stamina is terrible (which may or may not improve)

The best scenario is if LSAC decides to do Flex for some tests in 2021 but this is of course not guaranteed. I personally think there's a high probability that LSAC will do flex for earlier tests next year so I'm very tempted to wait.

P.S.

Those who are tired and feel like giving up, I am right there with you! My translation for a single LR section sometimes take 1-2 hours. I have stagnated and felt depressed about lack of progress too but I'm learning to appreciate even the smallest of improvements (small is not so small!). Celebrate these incremental improvements and keep fighting! I believe we will all be where we want to be at the end :).

Cheers,

Hello 7Sagers,

There seems to be some contention between test takers who notate and who do not notate on RC. What is some feedback that ya'll could give on the matter? I started out notating and now I sort of just translate and keep the material in my head. It seems to be about the equivalent regarding answering the questions correctly. However, I would love some feedback from the forum!

For those who has gotten to experience LSAT FLEX, is there some constant background noise from Proctor U? I am used to take digital LSAT with the proctor and background noise feature on, to the point it has become a stimulator for me, but I wonder would LSAT FLEX be a very silent experience.

Thank you!

Hey guys! I'm new here and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm also potentially thinking about joining a study group and/or looking for a study buddy... not sure yet though. I'm thinking it might be nice to have someone to share resources with, and discuss questions with. How does that work on here? I'm pretty hesitant to give out my personal info... but it looks like we can send private messages on here?

I'm thinking I will end up taking the June 2021 LSAT exam. I was initially shooting for November, but I only started studying at the end of June (2020), and I would love to unlock as much of my potential as possible.

My background is classical music, but going to law school is starting to become the dream I never knew I had. I'm particularly interested in social justice work, anyone else?

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and if nothing else I look forward to chatting with you all in the comments!

Hey everyone, is the best way to follow the CC just to go from top to bottom ?

And if so, are some of the topics laid out in the wrong order ?

I have routinely encountered videos or topics ( Parallel method of reasoning ) for example. Where JY says its the last or highest section of LR. But, I still have many other question types etc still to do below it. like necessary assumption question type. Did they rearrange the video order or something ? Im honestly confused and want to be learning the question types in the proper order, due to the fact that the topics snowball together ! Please help or advise !

Hi all, wanted to seek some last minute advice before going into the October Flex. I've been fluctuating a lot lately and wanted to know from others who have experienced the same thing---what is your advice for performing your best on test day, and stabilizing your scores? Feeling demoralized after scoring a 166 today, after my first 180 a couple of days ago. My last 8 PTs, in order, have been:

175

176

171

171

167

169

180

166

I take 3 PTs a week, I know this is on the high side but the exam is really soon and I want to get exposed to as many questions as possible. Thanks in advance!

Also more of a general question, on the real Flex RC section, are there line numbers? I took a PT from the LSAC Lawhub website today and there were no line numbers which really threw me off.

My actual score for PT drilling has been staying relatively the same, I have gotten a couple 160s but for the most part it is staying in the high 150s. But when I do my BR I am getting mid 160s. My BR scores from my earlier PTs to my most recent have increased by about 10 points so I can see improvement in understanding, but it is not translating to my actual score. Has anyone noticed the same or have any advice?

What’s the distinct definition of and/or explanation of the assumption in a mistaken reversal. Mistaken Reversals are daunting at times when I’m under pressure, sometimes I pick up on them, sometimes I don’t 🤦🏾‍♀️ 🥴🥴😩😂 I’ve found at times that when comparing the variables A and B in the premises that the follow A and B Variables in the conclusion; I find they are never identical 😩 that’s why I sometimes mistake- mistaken reversal for mismatched concepts instead; because my variables never follow in order for me to confirm the “like terms” were flipped 🥴 also if that is not the case should I always follow the necessary variable in premises and make sure it isn’t flipped to the sufficient in the conclusion ?!? #Help lol am I overthinking it?!?

I signed up for the August LSAT in USA and planned to travel there to take the test. However, due to travel restrictions and what not, it looks like I can no longer make the trip.

I thought it would be fine to take the online test from where I am in Asia but when I called LSAC, they said that I have to be in the USA-Canada region in order to take the exam.

Does anyone have experience taking the exam outside of the country that they were supposed to take it? I was thinking of using VPN to change my IPO to be based in the US, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

Two questions:

Has anyone had success recording a digital take + your scratch paper writing, and if so can you share your setup?

Does anyone have a line on a tutor good for reviewing video and analyzing strategy deficiencies? I've reached out to one of the tutors I've used before (from 7sage) as well as powerscore... still waiting on responses.

Hello,

I realized that I am repeatedly getting inference questions wrong in LR and RC and am kind of confused about inferences in general. I also feel like I am not getting LG questions write because I have a hard time with inferences. Any suggestions?

Hey guy! Im registered for the oct test. I have taken 5 PTs in July and managed to score between 159-161 ( LR -6, LG -5 RC -7 BR 164) in all of them. I have been blind reviewing and maintaining a error journal. Im starting to get really frustrated about my lack of progress. Can anyone who was in a similar place recommend what they did differently to see an increase?

Hi all

I am currently wanting to sign up for November, and have never used LSAT resources before. At this point I only have about 2 months and some change from now until test day for November 2020. Is this a viable timeframe to try to get 8-10 point bump? I've previously taken it and scored 147, a few years ago without test prep materials. I was not sure if 7sage put a strong emphasis on having months versus just 2-3

I’m new to this Flex thing, since I just restarted studying last week (after taking a year off).

Can anyone do a brief overview of their Flex experience? You have to do it on a computer with a webcam - will you see other students? Do you see your proctor? What’s the format?

Hey quick question guys, I took my first prep test and it says 163 average score. I am asking because i have never gotten over 153 in the past so how is this graded and is this representative of your actual lsat score?

I just got my August Flex Score- 166! So happy about it and thanks so much to 7sage. However, I scored a 157 in June, should I write an addendum even if schools don't ask? Don't have that much of a reason for the jump other than just being really nervous for the June test and also studying more.

Hi, I am an international student, and I am worried about my writing part. I can’t find any official writing questions that can be practiced. Are there any writing review materials or methods that you can recommend? Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the spreadsheet that was showcased during the LR skipping strategy webinar held by two former 7sagers (don’t have their usernames) a few months ago. I‘m not having any luck with finding the original thread.

I’m hoping someone was able to copy down the spreadsheet setup they used for tracking LR timing, confidence levels, and I believe the diminishing returns? It was a really cool and different way they used to track their progress besides just recording how much time was spent per question. I ended up not taking notes, expecting the webinar to be recorded and posted on 7sage somewhere so that’s my fault.

Anyway, I appreciate any help! Thanks everyone.

Should i just wait till my score comes out to figure out if I need to take again or what.. really dont want to take again and i wont be able to study as much with school work soo not sure what to do

Hello everyone,

I have been studying the LSAT for the last year and have been working on my foundations. I began consistently PTing two months ago and my current stats are 160-165 for PTs and 170-179 for BR. My average PT score breakdown is -2 for LG, -6 for LR and -8 for RC. RC is by far my most volatile section. I want to spend the next few months closing the gap between my PT and BR score. I have a drilling schedule for LG. For those who have been in a similar situation, what helped you the most in bridging the gap? What are your recommendations for LR and RC specifically?

Thanks!
